Special Status is basically financial help to States, for example in Health scheme center will pay for 60% and State will pay 40% but those states who have special status have to pay 10% and center pays 90%

ty …so its constitution provisions for financial resources. Makes complete sense to me.

why does Bihar need it ? They have tons of natural resources and should have good revenues etc. I guess it’s just political ask in their case.

To compensate for the loss of Hyderabad which is a very industrial place we Andhra people were promised a special category status at that time.It was supposed to be included in AP re organising act.

Modi in 2014 promised to give Special category status for AP for not 5 years but 10 years and he just went back on his promise. That was the reason why Babu's TDP split with NDA back then 2019. BJP contested in AP 2019 on it's own and polled less than 1% votes despite the Modi wave that was sweeping across the country.

From 2019 -2024 BJP did very little to Andhra Pradesh.

Modi put fear of ED IT and what not in Babu's mind and forcibly alligned with TDP in Andhra. Today because of Andhra he has a chance of forming govt at the centre and his third term as PM.

If BJP contested alone in 2024 they would have got less than what they got in 2019.

Ohh ok ok got it

So special status se exactly kya advantage milega Andra ko? Kashmir type situation hone ka problem nahi hoga?

This election shows their anger at the state govt for aligning with the Con party.

Congress bifurcated the state without giving them a capital in a hurry in February 2014.
TDP has aligned with NDA with the demand for Amravati development and it will happen

ty for sharing that. :). It’s a fact but people from other countries insist India isn’t safe for women at first instance of a crime. As I have lived in Bombay where I never saw this as an issue.

You validating what I have heard of UP as well. Yogiji has made it safer for women.

but in many countries 100s of millions of women suffer from women apartheid. smiley18smiley19…and I was told by folks that I can’t speak to it as I don’t have a uterus. Apparently one needs that to support gender equality. Why do I say it. Because I am so glad to hear Yogiji didn’t need one to make it safer for women….

Wait for MIDs to post some crimes in UP now. 🤣🤣.

Bihar’s lack of progress has always baffled me.

Highest number of IAS, so many UPSC aspirants, rich mineral resources, vast water sources..kya kami hai?

Naidu can do really good things for Andhra. Deserves it too. Lead by example for rest of south on what NDA can do for a state :) vs Kerala that almost went bankrupt ?

To help cope with economic burden of the state. Andhra is predominantly agrarian state with few dry and arid lands in Rayalaseema region which is in a bad shape. That's why more investments and industries needed in that area to prevent migrations to neibouring states like Telangana and Karnataka.

Special status will aid in getting investments starting industries . People/ institutions who come forward will get tax benefits from centre and state.

More investments mean more economic growth and job opportunities for the people of the state.

In fact Modi diverted some MNCs which were coming to Andhra to Gujarat. So Andhra people have no love or respect for Modi or his BJP.

Thanks to Andhra people's enterprsing nature it is still among the better performing states in the country. But going by South standards it is still lagging behind.
