Today's case was both shocking and informative. Often nowadays to keep our privacy people often pretend to be someone else online or are very private online. But then when they start talking to someone it becomes a real friendship. This case taught us how to keep our privacy, but at the same time ensure that we don't take something to a large extent if someone doesn't want it.

(2/2) What's appalling is that the criminal was extremely careful in his act, and the cops found no fingerprints in the car. #CrimePatrol

(3/3) The police could only identify the body through the man's license. The cops need to begin their search for the truth from the scratch.

Techie's death: 'girlfriend' arrested

The Mahadevapura police on Friday arrested a 23-year-old woman in connection with the death of software engineer S. Sreerag (25), whose body was found in his car in AECS Layout, off Whitefield, Tuesday morning.

The police said the arrested woman was Gayathri alias Jennifer, a K.R. Puram resident and a team leader with a telemarketing firm in Indiranagar.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) T.G. Krishna Bhat said she has been charged with impersonation.

WRONG PICTURE

The police suspect that HP employee Sreerag, a native of Kozhikode in Kerala, committed suicide after his marriage proposal was turned down by Gayathri, whom he had met on a social network website in January. She had introduced herself as Jennifer and had emailed her friend's photograph to him, claiming that it was her. A smitten Sreerag started texting and chatting with her without ever seeing her.

When he proposed marriage a few days ago, she turned him down saying she was engaged to a London resident. A dejected Sreerag, police suspect, ended his life. He was found on the rear seat of his car near a park in AECS Layout where he had rented a house. His face was covered with four plastic covers and sealed with several layers of duct tape. A teddy bear, purportedly a gift for Jennifer, was found in the car.

The case won't stand. Because I'm pretty sure many of us here use fake names but everything else is real. Does that mean all of us should be charged with fraud as well?

If tomorrow I tell you my name isn't Shreya, but rather...I don't know, Anjali...would you charge me with fraud for faking you?

That man was a coward. Just cause someone doesnt love you back especially that person whom you dont know anything about is stupidity. I agree Anjali used fake info but she didnt harm anyone. She didnt force him to commit the crime. She just said no. She just said she doesnt love him.
