GEC Watch: Star Plus adds 25 GRPs in Week 42


At No. 2, Sony Entertainment has seen a one-point increase in GRPs -- from 257 points to 258 points, but its relative share has fallen from 21.2 per cent to 20.3 per cent.

Still on top, Star Plus, the flagship Hindi GEC from the STAR stable, has scored 317 GRPs for the week, up from the 292 GRPs that the channel had scored in the previous week. The channel's relative share has also moved up from 24.2 per cent in Week 42, to 24.8 per cent for the week ended October 22, 2011, TAM, C&S4+, HSM.

At No. 2, Sony Entertainment has seen a one-point increase in GRPs - from 257 points to 258 points, but its relative share has fallen from 21.2 per cent to 20.3 per cent.

At No. 3, Colors has lost 2 GRPs (208 points in Week 43), while its relative share has slipped from 18 per cent to 16.3 per cent.

At No. 4, Zee TV recorded 155 GRPs (up from 139 GRPs in Week 42), and its relative share is 12.2 per cent (11.4 per cent in the previous week).

Sony entertainment's sibling channel SAB TV is next, at 121 GRPs (123 GRPs in Week 42), while its relative share is 9.5 per cent (10.1 per cent in the previous week).

At No. 6, Imagine TV is at 69 GRPs, up from 64 GRPs. Its relative share is also up from 5.3 per cent to 5.4 per cent.

DD1 and STAR One, with 52 GRPs and 35 GRPs respectively, follow it. Their relative shares stand at 4.1 per cent and 2.7 per cent.

Sahara One is at No. 9. The channel's relative share has fallen marginally to 2.4 per cent, while its GRPs have moved up from 30 points to 31 points.

STAR Utsav and Zee Smile have garnered relative shares of 2 per cent and 0.2 per cent, respectively.

Saathiya Saath Nibhana (Star Plus) leads the list of the 10 most-watched programmes, clocking a TVR of 6.5, followed by Balika Vadhu (Colors) and Kaun Banega Crorepati (Sony), with TVRs of 4.84 and 4.25, respectively.

The fourth most-watched programme is Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, with 4.23 TVR. Sasural Genda Phool (4.93 TVR) and C.I.D. (3.85 TVR) follow next. Diya Aur Baati Hum, Is Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, Pratigya and Crime Patrol at no.10. are also a part of the Top 10 list.
