The previous match set the stage for the interesting final today.

The captain of South Africa, Aiden Markram says that he feels proud with the way they fought. Mentions that coming to the Centurion, they knew the margin of win was going to be very close. Appreciates the way the lower middle order stood up. Lauds Marco Jansen and Klaasen for taking the game very close in the end and states that the other batters can take inspiration from their knocks. Also mentions that the bowlers would look to fine tune their skills before heading to Joburg.

Tilak Varma is adjudged as the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his blistering ton. He scored an unbeaten 107 off 56 deliveries. When asked about the blow he took to the head while attempting the catch, he says that he feels fine at the moment. Shares that he is lost for words having scored a century for the team and he always wanted to contribute in the country's win. Thanks the skipper, Suryakumar Yadav for backing him and promoting him up the order. Mentions that he just wanted to express himself out there and just backed his basics. Adds that it was not easy for the new batter as the wicket was a bit two-paced. GIves the credit to the captain and the team management for backing them to go out there and play with freedom.

India secured a thrilling 11-run victory to take a 2-1 lead in the series. India posted a challenging total of 219/6, with Tilak Varma starring with an impactful 107 from 56 balls. His performance anchored India's innings after a slightly wobbly start, especially following the dismissal of Sanju Samson, the centurion from the first match, and then he perished for consecutive ducks in the next two. Suryakumar Yadav's leadership and strategic moves, including backing Varma to bat at No. 3, helped India set up a substantial target. In response, South Africa fought valiantly but fell short, finishing at 208/7, despite late bursts from Marco Jansen, who hit 26 runs off the penultimate over and eventually ended up with 54 off 17 and Heinrich Klaasen's cameo of 41 of 22 and along with David Miller's 18 of 18 towards the death overs were looking ominous to take South Africa home safely. India's disciplined bowling, led by Arshdeep Singh, who took crucial wickets at key moments, ultimately sealed the win. South Africa’s 19 extras, compared to India’s mere six, proved costly. Every run in such a high-pressure game where the balance can swing either side, these mere runs matters hugely towards the end result of the game.

Thanks for the info di .i was looking for it as I had missed 3rd match

Madhuri ji / viswasruti

At johnesburge we played 4 & win 3 vs South africa, matter of fact, SA won only one match at this venue in last 5 years in T20I format vs Lanka - tonight if we win, that will be our 24th win out of 26 in 2024 in T20I format no team win that many.
