Washington Sundar's father, Mani Sundar, named him after P.D. Washington, a cricket fan who helped the elder Sundar pursue his cricket passion. P.D. Washington sponsored Sundar's school fees, cricket gear, and school books. He passed away in 1999.

His sister Shailaja Sundar (also known as M. S. Shailaja) is also a professional cricketer.

There are congratulatory pats among the New Zealand players as they walk off. They've taken six wickets this morning, would you believe it. Superb bowling effort led by Mitchell Santner who had a disappointing tour of Sri Lanka recently, but has found his mojo here again. The way he varied his pace and trajectory was such a delight, and he was too good for the Indian batters on a pitch with quite a bit of help in it. Indian spinners were noticeably quicker yesterday, at least in the first couple of sessions, but New Zealand have bowled much slower, and extracted a lot more out of the pitch as a group. There were some rash shots as well with the batters looking to put the spinners off their lengths. And all of those factors have led to the hosts being in serious trouble here in Pune. They still trail by 152, and with only three wickets left. Join us back in 35..

5 match series in Australia is just 4 weeks away. What are we going to do there ? Imo non-performers should strictly opt out themselves. There needs to be radical change in the approach. Situation is quite "Gambhir" here smiley7.

Sure it is. The players must play in domestic games in between international assignments. They can't just turn up to play international matches without prior game time. Sorry, I am not keeping my hopes up for Test Championships.

Cheers..
