Huge appeal for LBW, not given. It's Michael Gough and he usually gets it right but Bumrah is adamant and demands the review. Did it pitch in line? Didn't it bounce too much? Don't think this is good enough. Hit well above the kneeroll but Latham isn't' a tall man. Well pitched outside leg

STAT: Other than India’s three aforementioned Tests against New Zealand, there has only been one other instance in Test cricket history wherein a team bundled out for a sub-100 score in the first innings has responded with a 450-plus score in the second: ENG vs AUS in Melbourne in 1894/94 (75 & 475)

It is quite dark now. Umps converge, take the reading on the light metre and they go off. But Rohit and Co. aren't happy. They want play to carry on and they are going nowhere. Rohit points to sky and says something. He wants to play because he knows it's a tricky phase for batters. Meanwhile Latham and Conway quietly escape from the scene and why not. They will not want to carry on.

Halt! The light meter is out as the umpires assess the fading light. Harsha Bhogle mentions on air that a massive cloud has moved over the stadium, and it's causing concern. The umpires deem that the light is not fit enough for the play to continue. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli appear visibly displeased with the decision, expressing their frustration as they remain on the field, while the two New Zealand openers have already made their way back to the dressing room

Now the groundstaff bring the covers on as they expect some rain. Indian team is back in the dressing room now but they are waiting in their whites with gear on. They are saying any chance of light improving we want to get back and play tonight because they know this is the best time to bowl. Now the rain comes down hard and that should be the end of the game. Insane rain now and the groundstaff had to run for cover.

Wonder if BCCI can invest in some larger good quality covers, instead of small covers. ..

It has been an outstanding Test match. Some high quality batting from the Indian top-order but the lower middle-order and the tail just couldn't see off the second new ball and they lost their last 7 wickets for just 54 runs. William ORourke the wrecker-in-chief, getting the ball to misbehave after Southee troubled and got rid of the sensational Sarfaraz. It was a body blow when ORourke came on and removed Pant first ball of his spell with the new cherry. You sensed India were in trouble when those two fell and the rest just couldn't find a way to survive. India could come second despite two great innings from Sarfaraz and Pant. Can they make 107 feel like 250+ tomorrow? Realistically, advantage New Zealand. But the pacers have enough help and you never know with spin too. And interestingly, the lowest target ever defended successfully in a Test by India is 107 against Australia at the Wankhede in 2004. Day 5 starts at 09:15. Join us for the fun. smiley4
