124, on paper, might not seem a lot but this is the first time a team has breached the 120-mark at Sharjah this T20 World Cup. Much of that was down to Wolvaardt establishing a good foundation and Dercksen finishing things off at the end. Kapp's cameo was also handy and while this might not seem a ground-breaking total, it gives South Africa enough to work with.
England, strangely enough, will be happy chasing this score too. When Brits and Wolvaardt were together, it seemed they would capitalize on the middle overs and put England to the sword. England's barrage of spin, though, came to the fore thereafter. Ecclestone was the pick, with Dean, Glenn and Smith also among the wickets. Sciver-Brunt, in fact, was the most expensive of the bowlers.
This game is now set up nicely, where both teams will feel they have a shot at victory. Join us in a bit for the run-chase!
