The hotly anticipated Women's T20 World Cup is finally here and we're set to get 23 high octane clashes between 10 teams. The UAE will play host and the matches are spread across Sharjah and Dubai. We've got two games to kick things off today and we're building up to the first one which will see Bangladesh take on Scotland. It's a historic occassion for the Scots as they'll be playing their first ever Women's World Cup. They had a dream run through the qualifiers going down only to a much more experienced Sri Lankan side. Bangladesh, meanwhile, most recently came up short against India in the Women's Asia Cup semi final. Both teams will be raring to go and will be keen on getting their campaign off to a winning start.

Bangladesh Women have won the toss and have opted to bat

Nigar Sultana | BAN Captain: We want to bat first. Seeing the conditions, think it will be good for batting. Should come on to the bat nicely We've been preparing ourselves very well. Win against Pakistan in the warmup games was very nice for us.

Teams:

Scotland Women (Playing XI): Saskia Horley, Sarah Bryce(w), Kathryn Bryce(c), Ailsa Lister, Priyanaz Chatterji, Darcey Carter, Lorna Jack, Katherine Fraser, Rachel Slater, Abtaha Maqsood, Olivia Bell

Bangladesh Women (Playing XI): Murshida Khatun, Shathi Rani, Sobhana Mostary, Nigar Sultana(w/c), Taj Nehar, Shorna Akter, Ritu Moni, Fahima Khatun, Rabeya Khan, Nahida Akter, Marufa Akter

Kathryn Bryce | SCO Captain: We'd have had a bat first as well but excited to go out there and chase. Pretty good conditions out here, heat is probably the main thing. It's been absolutely fantastic, been hectic with all the media. Everone's really excited and prepared to go.

Nigar Sultana | BAN Captain: We want to bat first. Seeing the conditions, think it will be good for batting. Should come on to the bat nicely We've been preparing ourselves very well. Win against Pakistan in the warmup games was very nice for us. Cricket is growing nicely in Bangladesh. We're here to show that.

Pitch report: "First game of the tournament and its a day game. It's very hot, high of 38 degrees. Slight breeze. Fairly central pitch. 59m and 62m square boundaries, 73m down the ground. It's a new surface. Conditions will spin, it might seam a bit as well with the grass" reckon Nasser Hussain and Carlos Brathwaite.
