23 year old :3 test 13 wickets
William Peter O'Rourke
At six feet four inches, Will O'Rourke has given New Zealand's attack a potent point of difference with his towering frame and high point of release and he didn't even need a lot of time to prove it. On Test debut, he bagged a match haul of nine wickets setting a new national record.
Kyle Jamieson, who is taller than O'Rourke at six feet eight inches, has worked closely with O'Rourke at Canterbury. Less than two years after making his state team debut, O'Rourke bolted into New Zealand's white-ball sides and showed that he could be a hit-the-deck enforcer just like Jamieson. His pace, bounce and seam movement helped New Zealand secure their first series win against South Africa in men's Test cricket and soon after, he was rewarded with his first New Zealand central contract.
O'Rourke was born in the UK to Kiwi parents who had moved there for work. He lived there until he was about five and then returned home, following his father Patrick O'Rourke's footsteps into New Zealand domestic cricket. Patrick played 29 first-class matches and 19 List A games for Wellington between 1989-90 and 1992-93.
