Bangladesh's road to the Super 8s wasn't smooth by any means. They lost a close encounter against South Africa and notched up two nervy wins in the Group Stages. In this round, they have been beaten comprehensively by Australia and India due to which their NRR is poor (-2.489). Despite that, they still have a chance, although very tough, thanks to the last two results of Group 1. Can their batting, which has struggled throughout the tournament, finally come to the party tonight?
It's Afghanistan's famous win over Australia here in St Vincent a couple of nights ago which opened up this group. After back-to-back big defeats at the hands of West Indies (in the Group Stage) and India (in the Super 8s), Afghanistan outclassed the 2021 World Champions in all three departments. Rashid Khan and Co. have destiny in their own hands as they are a win away from making it to the semis. They come into this match as favourites but we all know how fickle this format is.
