Afghanistan start favourites against Uganda In match 5 of the T20 World Cup 2024, Afghanistan and debutants Uganda open their Group C campaign at the Guyana National Stadium in Providence, Guyana on Monday (June 3). This will be Afghanistan's seventh appearance in the shortest format World Cup tournament, while Uganda will be featuring in the show-piece tournament in any format for the first time. Afghanistan Bank on T20 stars Rashid Khan-led Afghanistan start favourites in the match as the Asian side features several players with massive T20 experience, having played on the international stage as well as major T20 leagues across the world.

The likes of Rashid, Mohammad Nabi, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Noor Ahmad will bring their experience from having played in tournaments like the IPL. Uganda Bank on experience Uganda led by Brian Masaba, on the other hand, also come into the tournament with plenty of experience in the squad despite qualifying for the T20 World Cup for the very first time.
