The conditions have been overcast in Kolkata and the weather forecast doesn't look promising, but it isn't raining at the moment and the covers have been peeled off. Will rain play a spoilsport? We hope not! The Australian captain - Pat Cummins along with Glenn Maxwell is having a look at the pitch as the hessian has been taken off. Steve Smith too gets a feel of it. To the naked eye, looks like a pretty good wicket to bat on. But we shall bring you the pitch report as soon as it's available..

ICYMI - We do have a reserve day for the knockout games and the final. Hence despite the dodgy weather in Kolkata, we are most likely to get a result. For now, players from both the teams are indulged in warm-up drills with a slight drizzle around. The pitch is under covers for now, stay around for further updates..

Warner vs QdK. Marsh vs RvD. Starc vs Jansen. Maxwell vs Markram. Hazlewood vs Rabada. Zampa vs Maharaj. Plenty of battles within a battle. Both the teams have several match-winners. Who will rise to the occasion though? We shall find out soon. The toss and teams are not far away..

Who will win aus vs sa prediction?

Google Win probability meter states that Australia has a 56 per cent probability of winning this match whereas South Africa has a 44 per cent chance to make it. On the South African side, Quinton de Kock, Rassie van der Dussen and Aiden Markram are among the batsmen to watch out for.

1.10pm Covers are now coming off. If in doubt over the next little while, the covers will either be in some state of being off or on, until they are either completely off or completely on and the game is either on or off.

Vinod Rajpal: "World Cup in Asia Cup mode...... weather discussion is going ON!" I did feel left out during the Asia Cup. Although the WhatsApp group was fun to wake up to in the morning

JC: "In rugby, the teams are known almost 5 days before the match. Why dont we know the SA team sooner? In fact .. I'm struggling to get a teamsheet!" They don't have to be declared until the toss. Adds to the suspense

Another of the key performers for Australia has been Adam Zampa who has rebounded magnificently after a difficult start to the tournament. Fidel wrote about him.

Kannadachi : "Today can never be the retribution for 1999, 2007 for the simple reason that the respective ODI teams of Australia and SA would have gone through at least 8 overhauls!!!" Stop letting little details get in the way of easy narratives (but, yes, it's a very valid point

Krypto: "As a South African I don't like this situation at all , it evokes PTSD. Furthermore we all aware we should bat first however with Rain and DLS that makes it a conundrum that just adds to the anxiety . Ill be watching this like a good horror movie with my hands covering my face peaking between my fingers
