Kulasuriya to Nida Dar, 1 run

Sri Lanka win by one run! Dar down on her knees there, as the Pakistan dugout is stunned. A run-out at the keeper's end, as they tried to pinch the second for a potential Super Over, but alas!

SL Women won by 1 run

Congratulations to Sri Lankan Women for winning the match and reaching the finals.🥳

It must be devastating for Pakistan to lose the match just by one run.

They played well.👍🏼

Cheers..

Sri Lanka get into a huddle, and rejoice in the moment; Maroof and co look shattered. A terrific game of cricket, which kept swinging from one way to the other throughout the run chase.

WHAT-A-GAME! Dar is down on her knees in utter disappointment. Maroof in the dugout looks devastated as well. They'll both wonder how they let this slip. It was going as per plans, was the perfect chase for a large part of the innings with Muneeba giving the early momentum thanks to some poor new-ball bowling. That flurry meant that Dar and Maroof could nurdle it around, and the senior pro managed the chase very well until the 18th over when the Pakistan skipper had a rush of blood. It was still run-a-ball or thereabouts but Sri Lanka hung in, and once they picked up Naseem cheaply, Pakistan just lost their nerves.

Bismah Maroof speaks first: "It was a very good match. Everybody enjoyed watching it. It was a very good wicket. We controlled well in the middle [overs], but we gave some lose balls as well. We didn't bat well in the end. Their bowlers bowled well as well. It was a very clinical performance from all who played [in this tournament]. Very proud of the game after they came back from the Thailand match."

Chamari Athapaththu | Sri Lanka captain: Lots of pressure but we stuck by the bowlers. I always thought that my bowlers could do a good job. We changed the batting order to change a few things. After 14 years, we are in the Asia Cup final, that's good for us. First six overs they batted well, openers did well but we stuck to our plans. We knew that after six overs, it isn't easy to hit boundaries, so just stuck to our plans.

Inoka Ranaweera | Player of the Match: I'm very happy to contribute to the win. Glad that we won. Would like to share this award with Achini as she bowled a great final over. When we started the tournament, we gelled well and trusted each other. We don't have big names but have a very good squad.

Sri Lanka certainly have something about them when it comes to defending low scores in must-win games. They won a potential knockout game against Bangladesh by squeezing the defending champs, nearly did it to Pakistan in an inconsequential league game and then did it when it mattered the most against Maroof's girls in the semifinal. They certainly have some momentum on their side and although India are overwhelming favourites, T20 is anybody's game, more so in a Cup final. Do join us in two days time for the summit clash.

India vs Sri Lanka on Saturday - the final of this year's Asia Cup. Their men did it just last month, and the women have an opportunity to replicate that. A brilliant semi-final sets he tone for what should be an equally exciting title game, and until then, it is goodbye from Ranjith, Suds and me, Himanshu!
