Jail break for Sri Lanka. You could argue that they perhaps bowled better, but it then came down to UAE's inexperience in chasing down a revised score under DLS. They were off to a decent start as they chased down 110, but then rain halted the game with UAE at 20 for 1 after 4 overs. It came down to 46 needed off 42 balls when play resumed, but that's where UAE stuttered. With the field spread out, they didn't get the boundaries nor could rotate strike efficiently. The pressure told on the batters, caused panic and created wicket-taking opportunities for the Lankan spinners. You'd have to feel for UAE, which is made up of a bunch of teenagers and who were playing their first real big game of cricket. They'll learn from this loss as they go up against some more fancied teams later on. A good gesture from the Sri Lanka cricketers to wrap it up, with both teams standing together for a group photo, something that'd be treasured by the UAE girls.

Chaya Mughal: When you’re playing against such an elite team, there were a lot of plans we had to execute. We managed that with the bowling, but the rain interrupted our batting flow. Had this been a 20-over game, the result would have been different. (On youngsters) This gives UAE cricket a long leash of life, they are pushing us forward.

Chamari Athapaththu: Finally, we won but I’m not happy with the team's performance. We aren’t playing to our potential. Tough games coming up, we need to improve our batting. I’m really happy with the bowling performance, after the rains but as a batting unit we need to improve. (On Madavi's batting)She is an upcoming batter and did really well today and yesterday as well, I hope that continues.

Harshitha Madavi | Player of the Match: I just played my normal game, I just wanted to stay till the end. I didn’t put too much pressure on myself.

Sri Lanka are off the mark with two points, but it'll be UAE who will rightly go away with plenty of positives from the match. Asia Cup rolls on tomorrow with another double-header. Do join us for all the action. For now, cheers and bye..
