This has been a long time in coming. I have been a silent member of this forum (since circa 2011-2012, prior to which I was pretty active on I-F). Tell me, if you were getting numerous awards and doing great work at your job that too for a long time and were one of the cornerstones of the company, but your boss kept promoting and giving importance to the newer members of the company, how would you feel? Let me tell you...you slowly lose interest in your job, the productivity fades, it becomes a drag to come to work, to the point where you start hating what you loved doing once upon a time. I think that's what has happened here with FW. They are beyond frustrated by how Sony has treated them. How much garbage can any self-respectable person/franchise take? And that goes to reflect in the quality of the episodes, not to mention 21 years is a long time to be coming up with unique crime scenarios. That too, FW have lost the Raghuvans to the movie industry.
I just watched Case of the Man with Many Names (2001 case), in remembrance of the glory that CID used to be. Nothing flashy, simple investigative procedure mixed with equal parts suspense and character development. There's a very minor scene in the episode where Abhijit goes " Agar yeh mere haath lag gaya, main uski har call free kar doonga. Aisi haadi todonga ki phone uthana bhool jayega". The diligent ACP scolds his officer for talking like that and demands he maintains decorum. And that's what drew me to the show. What a minor 30 seconds of the show can make you feel. Feel sad to say this, but despite the quality getting slightly better from like 2012-2013 times, the story quality and character development has been lacking.
All good things must come to an end. It really sucks that Sony hasn't done its due diligence and given CID a proper ending. That's the least they can do, but clearly that is too much to ask for ungrateful ba**ards. As long as we remember what CID means to us in our lives, we should be content and in a way happy that CID, the actors, the PH who have given 21 years of their lives are finally done with this slow burn. I don't watch many recent episodes, but I'm gonna sure as hell going to watch the 27th October one. CID was, is, and will remain the best show that there ever will be. Goodbye CID, and thanks for the memories.

I didn't believe those articles one bit anyways. The fact that this news about CID going off air came from FW and the actors, not the channel, is proof enough that the channel doesn't care about the show. It just cares about its image. So obviously the best way to control its image is to give the appearance of caring about the show.

I remember zilch about the last episode I watched. I can scarcely recall the month or the year even. But I am still connected to the show that was once a major part of my finished years. The veracity of its fate has finally forced me to say goodbye.
However, CID and its team will forever be a part of my life. I'm very grateful to the whole team for gifting us a show we can cherish until the very end.

Hello! 😊 I have downloaded all the episodes from 1998-2008 on a hard drive. These files came from the Google drive that members of this forum painstakingly assembled. It can be found here: https://www.india-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=4974313

Without CID, Sony would have ceased to exist by suffering the fate known to its shows that had to shut down due to disastrous ratings. CID deserved a better treatment succeeded by a graceful exit. I'm glad that FW pulled the plug.

He finally expressed the vexation and grievance that was long due. The entire fan base can actually relate to his words. The feeling is mutual.

He's literally said word-for-word that most of us have said. The show was choked and attacked, until fans just thought it would be better for it to go off air more than anything.
