Sanaya is a very intelligent actress, and also a very practical girl, with her head firmly on her shoulders. She recognises completely the huge burden of her previous show and the iconic jodi, and knows that comparisons are inevitable and will keep coming for a long time. Hence her choice of new show ... as different as possible from the previous one. It won't end the comparisons, but will minimize them as far as possible. Also, the audience base will shift ... the love story audience is different from the family drama one.

Now on Chhanchhan ...
Sanaya made it clear this is the story of Chhanchhan and Uma Ben ... not Chhanchhan and Manav, not even ChanMan and Uma Ben ... it is about the two women, and how they deal with each other. Don't think Manav will have too much of a role, other than to romance Chhanchhan once in a while, and hopefully stand up for her occasionally. I hope he won't be a complete mamma's boy, though. But it looks like Chhanchhan will be more than capable of standing up for herself. 😃

And the main story will start only after she enters the Borisagar household as the bahu. So the ChanMan love story, while it is cute, is only to set up the marriage and Chhanchhan's entry into the house. No wonder the ChanMan falling in love is smooth ... the main troubles will come only after marriage. 😛

Sanaya seems to adore Supriya already! Looking forward to more of their scenes when Chhanchhan gets married ... two excellent actors together ... they are really good to watch.

Sanaya said this show will leave you with a smile on your face. She's right ... now that the show is settling down, every episode leaves me smiling.

Diya, you always say what I'm thinking and so much better than I can. I've never been a fan of anyone before Sanaya and it was the straightforward nature that she showed again in both recent interviews that turned me into one. I love the way she is able to address questions about her previous show head on. She acknowledges that for a lot of people the intensity of her onscreen chemistry with her previous co star is a once in a lifetime event and she again acknowledges his talent. She didn't try to cover up for Farhan but just said he's inexperienced. No matter how much I loved her previous show I'm ready for questions related to it to end. In fact it would be great if there was one big all cast interview and then that's it, after all haven't all the questions related to that show been asked and answered. Is anyone really expecting any more answers?

@vanitha3d ... thanks! 😃 The little we've seen of Manav makes me hopeful that he won't be so much a Mama's boy ... most men are before marriage to some extent 😉 Supriya P is fantastic ... no wonder Sanaya is enjoying working with her!

I was very happy that she did not take up a love story after IPK. The comparisons would have been huge and that kind of a love story and chemistry comes once in a while. Even for her as an actress it was necessary to try something different. Whether she will be successful or not is a different thing but I applaud her for the conviction to try something different.

About Chhanchhan ,even in her last interview she said she know where it is heading and that is what she is looking forward to. The real story will start post- marriage.

She sounds so excited to be working with Supriya..they haven't had too many scenes together as yet but when it happens , I am sure it will be a treat to watch...looking forward to that.

I agree completely, capricorn2006 ... it is a brave step for Sanaya to take, to ditch the love story genre where she has already established herself with two back to back hit shows and pairs ... and go in for something completely different. But a smart step too ... a third love story would have been easy for her to do ... but it would invite constant comparison, and she would run the risk of being typecast. Plus of course, like you said ... a hit pair like that comes once in a blue moon.

From Sanaya's excitement about the post-marriage story, as well as from Supriya P's comments, I am more and more convinced this is not a typical saas bahu show ... it WILL be different. And both the actresses are a pleasure to watch on screen ... so looking forward to what lies ahead. Already one promise has been fulfilled ... I have had a smile on my face after every episode the last week ... 😃

Thanks, Sharu ... Sanaya is one of the few actors that I admire more and more every time she opens her mouth ... she's made it very clear what kind of show this is gonna be ... and her reasons for choosing it. Very intelligent and clear headed girl ... knows exactly what she's doing ...

ChanChan isn't more than 1.5 year show though according to me because once CC gets married into UB family changes the rules story is over by then unless the PH comes up with alot of interesting tracks.

I pray this show is a big success for her sakes I trust her when she take this decision of course I would love to see her in another beautiful love story but whatever decision she takes I respect her for that and will continued to support her.

I was hoping for another love story, to be honest 😛 because I love Sanaya in love stories ... but I completely understand her reasons for not doing one right now. I think she really has to get out of the shadow of Khushi ... last night my husband saw me watching Chhanchhan and said instantly ... "oh, your Khushi Kumari Gupta is back?" So yes, for her she has taken the right decision.

I do see Farhan improving slowly over the last one month ... he still has a long way to go though ... but then he is matched against powerhouse performers ... the contrast is also greater.

The previous show of this PH lasted just under two years, I think. And there were five or six brothers there, whose stories they all went into. So here we have three brothers, one sister, plus Chhanchhan's own brother and sister ... the Dadaji hasn't made an appearance yet ... there are lots of characters. 1 - 1.5 years should be easy ... more than that will depend on TRP's. And me too ... I love watching Sanaya on screen ... I will continue to watch her as long as she's there. She makes it worth my while to watch! 😳
