IPL 6, in the opening week, reduces TRPs of shows across all channels
The matches in the first week got an average of 3.8 TRP, almost close to what it had garnered in the last season (it had got 3.9 then). However, this is far less compared to the ratings IPL had got in its first season, which was 5.5.
Evening matches' TRPs:
April 3 (Wed): Delhi V/s Kolkata: 4.1
April 4 (Thur): Mumbai v/s Bangalore: 4.9
April 5 (Fri): Hyderabad v/s Pune: 3.7
April 6 (Sat): Mumbai v/s Chennai: 4.5
April 6 (afternoon): Rajasthan v/s Delhi: 2.1
But IPL's Opening Ceremony gets low ratings
The song and dance by the stars and all the jazz at the inauguration, held a day before the matches started, got just 1.8 TRP.
Kya Hua Tera Vada to wrap up in a few weeks
There's buzz that Mona Singh's Kya Hua Tera Vada on Sony TV will wrap up after IPL. The show this week got 0.8 TRP.
Dabangg 2 does well on the small screen too
The Salman Khan-starrer's TV premiere on Star Plus garnered 4.9 points, helping the channel to more or less hold on to its Gross Rating Points (GRPs).
Shows launched a little before IPL
TRPs of Colors' Bani dropped from 1.1 to 1, Zee's Badalte Rishton Ki Dastaan dropped from 1.4 to 1.1 and Sony's Chanchan that launched just one week earlier saw a dip from 1.4 to 0.9 TRP.
