He packed his briefcase and left his room. He made way to his kitchen and helped himslef with bread and jam. He left his house, and made way towards the north direction.
He reached the caf. He stood outside, staring at it. Memories of him and her sitting and having a cup of coffee in the same cafe were rushing in his mind. He found his eyes to be moist. He chuckled at his state and wipped it off with a handkerchief. While keeping it back in his pocket, the initials ss weren't unnoticed by him. He then caressed it with the pad of his thumb and closed his eyes. He still remembered that day when she was so excited after stitching this handkerchief. She marked their initials for it to remind that one can't be without the other.
He then continued his journey and now passed a book store. He stopped and went inside. The aroma of new books was something she loved. Even though she wasn't an avid reader she would pull him there to just inahle the smell of the new books. He smiled at how crazy she would get at times. But that craziness is for what he had fallen for. Is what he loved.
He came out of the store and then walked to the flower shop which was like a passerby in his way. He lifted the rose flower and looked at it intently. He remembered how she had once cut her finger due to the thorns present on the flower and he had sucked her blood , which would not allow her to wither in pain. He came back to earth after smelling the flower. He took out his wallet and paid the lady money and bought the rose.
He walked further. Now the road wasn't filled with clear skies, instead it had a different air in them. It was dark. The clouds were forming shapes and coming together, readily waiting to pour down all its grievances. He stopped in front of a rock.
He smiled, it wasn't the one of happiness, it was a lacerating smile. A smile indicating towards the wounds he had. A smile mocking the presence of the rock. He slowly read the words engraved on the rock.
"R.I.P Mrs Sharon Shekawat".
His eyes were heavy. But he had to be strong. He left the rose on his wife's grave, accompanied by a note.
Happy anniversary. Love you till the very end. With love your husband swayam shekawat'.
He sat down next to the grave and looked at the sky which now didn't have disturbing clouds, but a bright shining sun, celebrating that he finally united with his wife.
