Today is 'awal muharam' (Islamic new year) holiday in Malaysia. So some time off to write this short piece.

It's never too late

Terror conquering her blurry vision as she was dragged away finally realising that he meant a lot to her. He was important. He was her husband. Her love

Love !

Yes,

Finally she realized it. She was in love with him.

Seeing her drifting away through his teary red eyes, choking on the clouds of thick smoke surrounding him, finally he realized she was his life. The woman he loved dearly.

If only i could get the opportunity to confess to her my feelings. Perhaps it was too late. This was the end. I might never see her again.

He fell on the hard burning floor closing his heavy eye lids still listening to his enraged heart pounding on his chest struggling to speak the three magical words

" I love u !!".

God, it was painful.

His wretched soul cried to the Almighty seeking for help. Please spare me with more breaths . Please allow my heart to beat. Please restore life in me. I want to be here with her for more days, months and years to come. I am not ready to leave her . Not as yet as i just begun to live fully after a bitter long past Please shower me your blessings with the fruits of my good karma.

" Ginni ko meri jholi mein daldo. Aur kabhi kuch nehin magunga".

(Give ginni to me. Will never ask for anything else in my life).

Silence.

He knew the King of Heaven was listening attentively. Perhaps going through his balance sheet of karmas to see if his wish could be fulfilled.

He was patient.

Please take Your time ,Your Highness!

He knew he was standing in the middle of the dark road where a light would approach soon but he was not willing to leave. He was not prepared.

Her love was pulling him back .

It was strong.

Seconds later,

His heart became weaker. Oh no! I am dying!

This can't be. I am sure there is some unsettled business in my karmic paths. My balance sheet is not balanced. Not as yet.

He didn't have enough strength to plead anymore. His body was cold. He could not hear his pulses . This was it. The end of his journey as Aditya Raj Singh.

Silence.

A prayer heard from a distance.

It was the early morning Ardass ( prayer) from the nearby gurdwara (temple).

The holy hour!

Suddenly a warm touch of a soft hand supported his fragile neck and a soothing female whisper.

" Adi beta, maa ageyi. Tumey kuch nehin hoga".

(Son Adi, mom's here. Nothing will happen to u)

He recognized the voice.

Surpreet!

His step mom!

His saviour!

As they say ' the Almighty resides in a mother'.

A weak smile as a gratitude as she placed a ventilator attached to an oxygen supplier which belonged to his dearest grandfather, on his nostrils. The breath of fresh air. His pulses raised slowly. His heart pounding again on his chest He whispered

" Thank u , maa".

And snuggled into her arms welcoming her love finally .

The twist.

As the netizens and families tried to rescue the distraught soul trapped in the fire, the stepmother finally found a secret passage to reach to her son. Kushwant indeed had built safety routes underground for his family.

Then he heard another soft voice.

" Adityaji".

It was her. His wife

Who brought a warm blanket to keep him safe

He didn't respond but tried watching her through the blurry burning eyes

I love u !

His heart spoke finally but only to himself

His voicebox was too weak to hear his plight. His calm mind advised.

' Be patient. U have a long life now '

It's never too late!

Both the women supported his weak arms and escorted him out of the place of horror that almost took his life

He thanked the Lord for giving him more than what he desired.

The love of two women in one go!

The mother and the wife !

Finally, his good karma won the battle to survive

To be with his loved ones

To be with her

His life!

His love!

Ginni Aditya Raj Singh !

Few minutes later

As the ambulance took him away for further medical attention in the direction of a nursing home, he turned towards the clear glass window as the vehicle passed the temple , and smiled. His silent message to the King of Heaven

So your final verdict to me, Your Highness

Your balance sheet isn't balanced as yet!

Is fully and whole heartedly accepted .

Thank you for punishing me here on Mother Earth and not inviting to Your Doors that soon

Thank you for allowing me to spend more time with her

Thank you for blessing me with a new life once again.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to confess my love to her

Thank you for listening .

And thereafter, reminding me that

It's never too late!!

The end

This has such warmth to it❀️

Loved the part where supreet is the one who goes to rescue Adi! I'd really love to see their bond explored a bit more in the show too.

And the balance sheet part was really cool. I loved your wordplay.

This write-up is pretty amazing πŸ‘πŸ‘
