Chhajje Chhajje Kaa Pyaar tipped to go off air

Endemol's Chhajje Chhajje Kaa Pyaar which went on air on February 28 early this year is all set to bid adieu to its fans. It was earlier reported that the show was under the scanner for its dismal TRP ratings and later it got confirmed thatChhajje… was going off air but the precise date was kept under wraps.

A source tells us, "The TRP of the show has hit an all time low. They tried to give it a last shot by including the marriage track but it didn't make any difference. Earlier there was a rumour that the show would go off air by the end of July or August. Now they have finally decided that Chhajje… will be aired for the last time on July 28."

Shambhavi who plays Ginny the lead in the show remained unavailable for comment

They could've done so much with the storyline. Instead of Daksh marrying Lipika he could've married Dimpy and they could've shown how a girl interacts in her own home where the upstairs is her sasural and the downstairs is her mayka. Along with the cute love story blooming between Daksh and Dimpy and showed their compatibility. They could've also showed how Daksh handles a boss like Lipika instead of succumbing to her desires.

As for Ginny and Dhruv, their still so young. The marriage track was too soon. They could've shown them gradually fall in love and their ambition and career choices and targetted common youth difficulties and then come to the marriage track.

This show started with so much potential but they got stuck in their narrow minded tracks instead of opening up to new possibilities that perhaps the audiences can relate to.

Everyday life is already a complication full of it's set of own worries and problems, why would we turn on the television to view more problems? We'd rather watch things that make us laugh.

It's a pity.
