Alka Yagnik has given Arunita a violin earlier, and on Arunita's YT channel I have seen her with guitar and keyboard - and of course Harmonium comes with the territory of being a classically trained singer. It would have been interesting to see more of her prowess also on II.

Meanwhile, I wonder if Octopus has sponsored or at least mandated some rules around the dresses that we are seeing AK and PD wear during this week. By and large these seem to be more in line with the "look" revealed in the launch.

On another note - Star Jalsha is launching the Super Singer from tomorrow I believe. Kaushiki Chabraborty, Kumar Sanu and Sonu Nigam are the judges. I don't think AK can be a guest on a rival channel, but I can just imagine what a pleasure it would have been to hear her sing with Sonu Nigam or Kaushiki Chabraborty!

I think they do appear on rival channels but terms and conditions are dictated by her contract/mgmt. team.

Star and Sony are good friends in the Bengal market where Sony has no presence. Plus Sanu has great influence on Sony. So it is not entirely impossible to see her on the Jalsha stage in some episode if that makes sense to the Super Star singer team. But guests usually sing solo or with contestants, so I will rule out a Sonu/Kaushiki duet :)

But she has to find time. If she is not busy for a while I am sure she will get called by various Bengali channels. On the other hand if she is unavailable for a long time then the freshness would have gone and she will get less air time.

I was talking about the same thing, just lazy typing. Won't get a Sonu -Ak or Ak-Kau duet.

Will give a head's up in case I get news of her appearing on any show in Bengal.

Here is a little Aru trivia for diehard fans.

I have always wondered how Arunita managed to be active in Kolkata studios despite staying miles away in Bongaon.

In one of her many interviews this week she mentions that she also has a place to stay in Dum Dum, Kolkata which she uses. It is either a flat or a relative's place, but she possibly stays there when she is working in Kolkata. Mystery solved 😃

Yes, there is a lot of improvisations. She turns it into a mini Bengali song with Shona instead of Sona and slips in "O amar Shona re" at 4.39 😃
