Pawandeep's new song for a film. I understand that this is Gadhwali, not Kumaoni.
Pawandeep's voice in the non-HR songs is always so much deeper and richer. HR seems to have tried to make PD sound more like an HR clone - and probably a lot of post processing as well. In this song too we get to hear PD's voice as it should be.
Pawandeep's new bhajan in Musique Pie Spiritual label. Very unusual composition for a bhajan, but Pawandeep has done a great job of the music arrangement and singing. Original composition is by his father Suresh Rajan.

A very catchy tune, for sure. When I heard it after the audio was released, I had thought that this song can very well fit into a film situation where a girl who is the main character of the film is leading the Puja celebrations for her town / village / area, while her friend / love interest is accompanying her and later in the song her father who is like the local head or something comes in for a few lines. Well, that is not exactly how the video is scripted but it is not too far from that either.
The music is very catchy and upbeat. I can't understand all the lyrics but with my little knowledge of Bangla I can make out that it is about celebrating the arrival of Ma Durga, about how Puja has brought joy and celebrations, and there is a plea to Ma Durga to give bhakti and shakti to everyone, etc.
Arunita is excellent as always in terms of singing - and Pawandeep has done a decent job considering this is not his mother tongue. His past experience in Bangla and Assamese must have been helpful.
Arunita's voice is so much better than Antara Mitra's - I would love to see her get more work in Bangla.
