While the film is being directed by Premsai, Jai and Nithin play the male leads in the Tamil and Telugu versions respectively.
"We've been shooting the film twice in Tamil and Telugu. So, coordinating with the different sets of actors gets difficult and that's why there's been a delay," begins Yami. Doesn't she get exasperated that she has to shoot for the same sequence twice? "Oh yes, especially the songs because it becomes a double exercise for me. But I saw the footage, and I'm really happy with the outcome," she smiles.
The film, Yami says, will deal with a social cause, albeit in a subtle way. Not willing to disclose details, the actress says, "This is probably the first time that any film will touch on this subject. The film has action, romance and humour, and so, when we address this social issue, it won't look like we are preaching."
Yami plays Kavya, who works at a khadi store. "For me, it was a different experience being on the other side of the counter. We've always walked into stores, shopped and left, but never spared a thought for the salesperson. I realized the amount of time they spend filing things back on the rack, and how difficult it can get while dealing with annoying customers," she says.
Talking about her experience interacting with Rahman, she says, "Despite his achievements, he remains a simple person at heart. He found time to come to the studio where we were shooting, and introduced himself to everyone. He explained the concept to me, and even gave us some inputs. We spoke about films, music, and I found that he has a very good sense of humour."
Meanwhile, another project that's got the her excited is the Hindi film, the Ajay Devgn-starrer Action Jackson, directed by Prabhu Dheva. "Prabhu's a perfectionist, and is very quiet on the set. But he knows what he wants, is sweet and easy to work with. I'm yet to shoot for my dancing sequences, and I'm quite nervous now," she laughs.
