Preeti thanks on snap shots lovely!!
On Thursday, the city celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan with fervour. And so did its stars. For Salman Khan and family, who are known to celebrate every festival with equal enthusiasm, this one was no different.
TOI spotted Salman outside his sister Alvira Agnihotris new residence in Bandra West, sporting a colourful rakhi on his right wrist and a bright red tilak on his forehead. After playing the loving brother, the actor rushed off to shoot a promotional number for good friend Ajay Devgns Son of Sardar at Film City. The surprise package was definitely Helen,Salma and Salim Khan, who arrived together. The entire Khan daan including Arbaaz,Sohail,Malaika and a visibly pregnant Amrita attended the do at Alviras place. Interestingly,Sohail arrived in his new SUV which was strikingly similar to his brother Salman's.

Five seasons through with the sixth inching close to opening, Bigg Boss has had audiences across the country glued to their television sets, never mind the innuendos, indecent behaviour, sleaze, expletives, fights and allegations of these being rigged. Love it or hate it, the reality television show seems to be here to stay, albeit for all the wrong reasons.
The most striking element undoubtedly has been the long line of controversial inmates. Be it Sunny Leone, who entered the house as an Indo-Canadian adult movie star or Seema Parihar, a former bandit, who allegedly killed 70 people before surrendering to the police a few years ago. Or Pooja Missra, who was seen as a troublemaker right from the beginning or even Raja Chaudhary, who allegedly beat up his wife Shweta Tiwari.
However, all that is a thing of the past now. There is a surprise element in store for television viewers even as the sixth season is about to be aired in a brand new avtaar.
The broadcasters of the show confirmed the development: "Bigg Boss 6 will be a wholesome entertainer with a parivarik punch."
Buzz is, Salman Khan, who is keen Bigg Boss moves away from its trademark negativity and adopts a clean image of a family entertainer, was instrumental in bringing about this change.
A source from the television industry however told us, "It was a joint decision between Salman and the broadcasters to clean up Bigg Boss. Salman has become a very big star today and has a huge fan following, especially among kids. It works for him and the broadcasters to get more eyeballs."
The bigger challenge for the broadcasters as well as the producers (Endemol) remains how to implement the change. For starters, the sixth season will be sans controversial characters like Rakhi Sawant, Veena Malik, Dolly Bindra, Sambhavna Seth and so on. Instead, it will feature personalities from all walks of life, more so the film and television industry, who have a clean and more responsible image.
Our source said, "Bigg Boss has so far catered to the voyeuristic needs of Indian audiences. But there is bad news for those in the film and television industry who thrive on controversies. Not so long ago, these people were prime contenders for the show. But now, only those participants who have a family friendly image will be chosen."
According to the source, instructions will not be given that there is an embargo per se on adult content. But the underlying assumption is if you have participants who are sober, you need not worry they will create scenes that prove to be an embarrassment.

During the month of Ramzan, several Bollywood celebrities, including Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt throw lavish Iftaar parties. The latest addition to the list is Anurag Kashyap.
For the cast and crew of Gangs Of Wasseypur, the filmmaker has planned a bash at his residence on August 6. "We are having an Iftaar party. It's the month of Ramzan and I am looking forward to celebrating it with my GOW friends," confirmed Anurag.
Manoj Bajpai, Richa Chadda, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Huma Qureshi and Zeeshan Qadri (who is also the writer of the film) will be attending the Iftaar party. A crew member revealed that it would be a small get together.
"In keeping with the tradition of Ramzan, Anurag will serve dates to his guests, followed by a dinner spread including fresh fruits, juices, samosas and bhajiyas. He will also serve the special rose scented sharbat that is served in Iftaar," added the crew member.
We learnt Huma will bring galoti kababs since her dad owns a restaurant and Zeeshan will get milk falooda for all present at the party.

Even before Salman Khan's mandatory Eid release for 2012 is out, his Eid 2013 project has just been finalized.
Salman wants his brother Sohail Khan's Sher Khan to be his Eid 2013 release. And Sohail who had no clue about Salman's plans (probably because Salman himself doesn't know what Salman is planning) is thrown into a frenzy to finish post-production and start shooting to make it into the Eid deadline.
Says a source close to the project, "With Dabangg 2 locked for release in Aamir Khan's Christmas slot, the question of which film would make it into Salman's Eid 2013 slot was being seriously discussed. Since it was a relatively simpler film to make Sajid Nadiadwala's Kick was expected to be ready before Sher Khan which is going to be Salman's most complicated film in terms of technique. Sohail needed a full year at least to shoot the film and then at least another 3 months for post-production as the film requires extensive special effects. Now to meet the Eid deadline, he must complete the entire film, post-production included, in 10 months. But Bhai is keen to bring Sher Khan for next Eid. It's his gift to his kid fans. And as of now he won't be doing any other film after Dabangg 2 except Sher Khan."
Sohail, who has gone into the fast-forward mode, said, "Eid 2013 is really cutting it close. But I am definitely going to make an effort to make it for Eid next year. I hope to finish the final draft of the script by August and then quickly assemble the cast and crew. Inshallah, we roll in November and release for Eid."

There's no denying that wherever Salman Khan goes, mischief and madness has to follow. When Salman went on the sets of DID L'il Masters to promote his upcoming film Ek Tha Tiger along with co-star Katrina Kaif, the superstar of Bollywood successfully did what no other star has ever dared to attempt i.e. to bully Mithunda and yes, the grandmaster Mithunda was literally huffing and puffing his way through the entire episode as Salman Khan dragged India's original disco dancer into performing a series of mad challenges and stunts.
Salman made Mithunda climb up a slippery slope on the stage with his leather shoes on and guffawed as the Grandmaster comically slid back down to the floor. He also got dada to ride pillion with him on a kiddie bicycle that l'il Jeet had brought onto the stage. Dada was clearly the scapegoat of the day as the entire audience, cast and crew burst into fits of laughter each time Salman cornered dada into trying some new stunt.
Salman did not spare any opportunity to dare Mithunda into doing something he'd never done before. Like when Katrina was impressed by Raghav's trademark 'Slow-Mo' style, Salman suggested Mithunda join him on stage to try his hand at it too. And while at it, Salman suddenly sprang out of his "slow mo" pose and got down onto all fours and crawled right between dada's legs, leaving him stumped. As if Mithunda and Salman doing the "slow mo" dance together wasn't enough, Salman also got him to recreate the horse riding scene from their film Veer in slow motion... Mithunda played along and got into the groove and gave some rather "intense" expressions pretending to ride a horse leaving Salman and the audiences on the sets rolling with laughter on the floor.
A much amused Geeta Kapur said, "This was by far the most entertaining shoot experience on DID L'il Masters. Salman has done what no one ever managed to do across multiple seasons of Dance India Dance. No one dares to rag Mithun da. The number of times he made dada go up on stage in this one episode is more than the total number of times Dada has moved from his seat across all seasons of Dance India Dance put together. Salman really pulled a fast one on dada every single time he dragged him up on stage, leaving everybody choking with laughter. Only Salman could have pulled this off, he always brings such energy on the sets that it's a pleasure to have him as a guest on the show."
Anchor Jay Bhanushali who is often at the receiving end of Dada's challenges could not believe his eyes and joked, "After the merciless manner in which Dada has ragged and bullied me on the show, watching Salman Khan bully Mithun Da today is like a dream come true! It's payback time. Now he'll know how I feel when he makes a monkey of me!"
