I request viewers to equally support the transformation of Siddhartha to Buddha - Himanshu Soni

Himanshu Soni, as the young Prince Siddhartha in Dr B K Modi's Buddha - Rajaon Ka Raja on Zee TV has put in his heart and soul into the character. He feels he has thoroughly studied the character, and has given his cent percent to work. And today, his efforts have been paid off as he has been appreciated by his fans. And the actor feels that it is a big achievement for him, when his family starts to cry when they watch him on-screen, as they feel his acting so heart-wrenching.

Now that the story in Buddha has seen a transformation from the royal prince Siddhartha taking to the jungles, we wondered whether Himanshu had to put in special preparations to get this makeover right. Himanshu answered our question saying, "Well, I did not even get a single minute to prepare myself for this transformation. Nowadays, I am shooting for both the characters, as I need to shoot as Siddhartha too. It will take few days more for the track of Buddha to start. I guess I will take some time to get a grip on the new avatar."

Talking further, the young lad said, "Shooting gets a bit hectic as I need to emote quite a lot as Siddhartha. And to play Buddha too in the very next shot can be tough. But I am managing both the roles and trying to give my best."

Himanshu who is a kind of recluse on the set does not talk much to his co-actors off screen. However, he feels that his on-screen chemistry with Kajal Jain was strong enough for viewers to appreciate it.

On the learning curve he has had as an individual post bagging the prized role, the actor stated, "I used to be a very short-tempered person. But with me playing this role for some time now, my anger has come under very much control. I am aware about everything happening around me, and believe in staying happy in the present."

On the next phase of storytelling, Himanshu averred, "The journey of Buddha is very difficult. Personally I am trying to take time so that I can study Buddha's character. Before the role of Siddhartha started, I had done a lot of studying. As of now, I feel I will get into the character of Buddha in the next ten days."

Himanshu has a request to his fans who are looking forward to this transformation. "I would like to tell them that they should equally support the changes, so that we can share more about the transformation and give them something new to watch. Overall, I am expecting a positive response from the audience."

When asked about what he will miss as he sheds off the characteristics of Siddhartha, he said, "I will miss the character a lot, and of course my co-stars. As you know, Buddha is a completely different character when compared to Siddhartha."

On the reason for the show not fetching high ratings, he explained, "The Indian public does not follow the show regularly. There are a few Buddhists who follow our show. The youth is not interested in such shows, as they prefer watching music and movie channels. This explains the reason for the TVT of our show being less."

On future plans, Himanshu quipped, "I am getting offers for films. But I will not jump into any negative role after playing Buddha. I will prefer to play positive ones."

Himanshu, we wish you all the luck for the next phase of Buddha.
