Malory Towers and St.Clare’s were among my favorite books to read growing up!

What kind of thrillers do you like?

I find Freida McFadden really easy to read - her books are a good option for reading challenges like this one cos you can get through them very quickly although they can be a tad predictable and repetitive.

Some really good thrillers I read recently

Rock, paper, scissors by Alice Feeney

Look closer by David Ellis

The Only one left by Riley Sagar

What lies between us by John Marrs

The arrangement by Kiersten Modglin

The good lie by A.R. Torre

None of this is true by Lisa Jewell

Can I consider these as recs? I'm always open to thriller/mystery recs! smiley10

What sort of paranormal romance though? Is it like a story full of twists and thrill or is it more about romance? I need a plot that keeps me hooked because romance gets boring after a while.

Same 😅 I love romance as a subplot. Nowadays I also enjoy it sometimes as a main plot, but mostly I need something big plotwise to accompany romance. Like a mystery, murder, fantasy curse or something. Nahi to I'll get bored smiley36

I was sorting some stuff recently and came across so many books that I'd gotten so long with a lot of excitement to read, but never actually ended up reading 🙈smiley39

I'm hoping to get through some of them this month. Let's see ✌️❤️

Yeah I totally get you. I prefer more plot storytelling than the romance as those are just repetitive smutty scenes 😂 Lots of twists and thrills in this series. The romance isn’t the main plot as some books have it. This one is filled with dramatic events that aren’t predictable. I would definitely recommend as it’s one of my favourite heroines who is a total badass.

The first book is called - Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost. Check out the blurb on Goodreads or Amazon.

P.S I just skip past the smut pages so I can read the story. They have 1-3 sexual encounters through the book. Rest is all plot.

Okay, taking this one as rec too. Sounds interesting ❤️

If you do like slow burn books, I recommend any of Mariana Zapata. She’s like the Queen of slow romance. They don’t get together until like the very end in her books 😂 My favourite is The Wall of Winnipeg and Me. The chunkiest 500 page book in my paperback collection and one of my favourite tropes. Marriage of convenience/Arranged marriage/Contract.

I have that book! Did I read it too? 🤔 I don't remember... can you give a summary what it was about? I consume MoC/Arranged Marriage/Contract relationship content like crazy so I often get stuff confused smiley36

Oh absolutely! I also posted my March reads in the other thread, so feel free to pick from those too. Though there were some duds in that list! I have a hard time DNFing books, it has to be really bad for me to give up on it smiley36

So the Wall of Winnipeg and Me is about Vanessa who is a personal assistant to a footballer - Aiden. She quits working for him because he is cold and distant. Aiden reaches out to her to return needing her help to stay in the US so he makes a proposal to her. I can’t remember what she’d benefited from this as it has been a couple of years since I read it, I think it could’ve been exposure for her new business or something.
