Big B as the 8 feet tall Aswattamma in Kalki..His aura can't be matched.Part of its sequel is already shot.Probably Big B's parts..as he is old and has health issues.

So in hindsight,Dhar's Aswathamma getting shelved was for the better.

Parashuram is Vishnu avatar, angry and extremely powerful.I think his axe was his divine weapon.

Maddock has the budget and a super commercial director, who gave the 100 cr BB Munjya without any stars!!!

Looks Promising, but why does the poster look like the cover page from The Immortals of Meluha??

The Immortals of Meluha (Shiva Trilogy)

Also, if the thread did not have Vicky's name, I would have taken the actor to be Mohit Raina..

However, looking forward to this one. Parshuram is a paradox --- a murderous but righteous man. His would be one of the most interesting stories to see, if done right.

I trust Vijan to bring out the best -- both from the actors and the character being depicted..

Looking at the poster I was immediately reminded of this book. Isn’t it an adaptation? I thought it was inspired or related to the book.

This looks interesting. If made well then could be big success.

I don't think that it is an adaptation as Amish Tripathi deviated from his original idea to write his first book about the philosophy of Evil...however, the movie could still be inspired by Tripathi's writings, hence the resemblance of the poster with the book cover. Parashurama is one of the immortals - as far as I know - and took on the task to fight against the Evil brought by the warrior aristrocacy at that time...(somehow I feel that we could need such an immortal again and again as humankind seems never to learn - on a certain level)

So, did I misunderstood something about what was written in the first post??? Isn't Parashurama one of the Immortals??? And didn't Shiva adviced him about whom/what he should fight...

I know that sometimes - for my Western upbringing - it may seem to get difficult...but I like the quite 'earthly' mythology of the Indian subcontinent which reminds me of the v e r y human behaviour of Roman and Greek gods smiley1

Apart from story, screenplay, they need to spend adequately on VFX and not make it half-assed effort like the caricaturish Adipurush. This movie mounted on big scale,it has a big potential if presented well.

Firstly, Immortals and its sequels are known as the Shiva Trilogy. The central character goes by the moniker of Shiva and there are several allusions in the Immortals of Meluha (for example Shiva getting a blue throat upon drinking Somras similar to Lord Shiva having a blue neck after drinking Halahal poison) that point towards the character Shiva being the human adaptation of Lord Shiva..In the cover page he carries a trident --the signature weapon of Lord Shiva.

Whereas Lord Parshurama is the 6th incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Parshu in Sanskrit means an axe. In the movie poster, the character is carrying a double edged axe. So it does very much look like an adaptation of Lord Parshurama's tale..

The poster of the movie, however, is very much inspired by the cover page of The Immortals (now you too think the same, I'm convinced even more), but the movie, it seems is a totally different story..
