Probably just named it after Dua Lipa and it just happens to have a meaning. Appears cool and trending if she ever becomes famous I suppose.

Akshay had Canadian citizenship for a while then he gave it up when he went through a lot of trolling and is now an Indian citizen.
Deepika was also rumoured to not have Indian citizenship coz she was born in Denmark but she rubbished it all on instagram story and said she has always been a proud Indian citizen only.
Since, Alia is living and working in India she most probably has the OCI card - Overseas citizen of India - akin to a life long visa. She can enjoy all benefits and can buy residential, commercial properties but cannot buy Agricultural land.
Taxation is also there but they have different criteria for foreign nationals which Alia is. Like if Alia is earning from Indian company then she will have to pay tax on it but if her income is from a foreign source then she will not need to pay for tax.
Also Alia can never vote in India, have a government job. India does not allow Dual citizenship - either your Indian or not.

As for the name debate going on here. There were rumours about Deepika and Ranveer dealing with some infertility issues if true the name makes sense. Their prayers have been answered so she was named Prayer. Regardless of their reasoning it’s a very beautiful name.
Kushi, khushboo, muskan, mehak, Sameer, Sahil, Shah, Bahadur, Ruhan, Sher all are Perso-Arabic names.
Persian and Urdu are closer to Sanskrit than they are to Semitic languages. Glad the otherwise anti-academia Indian onlinejeevis are being so invested in linguistics about a word they use, at least, biweekly.
Nice name. It’s a beautiful Muslim name but I never heard any Hindu people name their children a pure Muslim name.
Famous cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar's daughter name is Sara, Saurav Ganguly's daughter's name is Sana. Both Sachin and Saurav are Hindus and have Hindu wives. It is the other way round , I have never heard Muslim celebs give their children Hindu names.

Don't know about celebs but my cousin's name is Sagar and i even know a Mahesh who is a muslim

Again both examples are children of interfaith couples. I meant where both the celebs and their spouses are Muslims. Is there an example where they have gone for a Hindu name?
