Jani Master of Stree 2 fame has no reasons to celebrate the film’s success. This horror-comedy is all set to create history by becoming the first Hindi film to cross the Rs 600-crore mark at the box-office, but this choreographer landed in a massive controversy recently. Master was arrested roughly two days back in Goa by the Cyberabad police and was produced in a local court, as reported by Press Trust of India. He was accused of sexually assaulting a former female employee after a complaint was filed against him.
Telugu choreographer Jani Master, accused of sexually assaulting a woman ex-employee, has confessed to the crime, police said.
According to the 21-year-old woman, she met Master at an event in 2017. Two years later he offered her a job as an assistant choreographer, which she accepted. The alleged sexual assault took place after that - at a hotel Master and she, and other dancers, were staying in during a Mumbai show.
On Thursday, Master - suspended by the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce and a workers' union - was taken into custody in Bengaluru and will be shifted to Hyderabad. The choreographer has worked on films like 'Baahubali' and 'Pushpa: The Rise'.
According to a statement by the police given to the press, choreographer Jani Master has confessed of his crimes and sins for which he was arrested.
The victim in question was a 21-year old female employee and according to her complaint, the harassment and assault continued for years.
The lady said that Jani Master threaten her with physical abuse and mental harassment during rehearsals.
