why the HELL they are ignoring and not rereleasing Andaaz Apna Apna.... The most deserving film which never got its due and deserving appreciation in its original run
No one is interested in rewatching Aamir's movies in theaters. He's lucky people paid even once to see him.
There's a reason most of the re-releases are centered on SRK and Salman's movies, the true superstars, as well as Sridevi as seen in this thread. Aamir could never sustain a whole series of re-releases like SRK did with his YRF films earlier this year which was so popular that it was extended with more films and more showings.
Imo lack of content , for various reasons (eg. the one I pointed earlier ) , can very well be a contributory factor to this experimental trend so as to keep things stay afloat these times
Also , I wonder does this trend has its inception in foreign like HW with its vacuous cousin simply walking on its footmark as usual ? As I am noticing voices from various quarters also calling out HW for lack of good, engrossing content eg. myself as a enthusiastic viewer of horror/sci fi genre . Or safed bagarbilley citing unbearable propaganda (pro- Zionist / deep state / left-liberal etc.) . Hence in which case ( as partial reason ) , a recourse to bygone classics may be .
There was absolutely no reason to drag Amir and there are people who would love to get the chance to rewatch some of his films in theaters.Originally posted by: RaniPreityAish

I remember this happened in 2009 when producers strike happened..all new movies were kept on hold from mar to june'09..and they started re-releasing old ones..it shows what has happened to BW..the content is so limited now and hardly anything is working (one stree does not change the larger picture) so much so that they are doing this..
The producers decide whether to rerelease or not,it's upto them.
None of those were industry hits whereas most of Aamir's movies post those movies releases were industry hits during their original release.
Hi "newbie."
Producers care about $$$ and nothing else. If they are re-releasing these movies, it's not to empty seats for no reason. They're doing it for the money. They pick these movies because they know they will be the most successful.
LOL how hilarious that you're claiming none of those movies were hits. Could you be 100% more wrong. Let's go through each movie one by one.
Darr - blockbuster and third highest grossing of 1993 worldwide. Highest grossing of 1993 overseas.
Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge - all-time blockbuster and highest grossing of 1995, worldwide, domestically, and overseas. Second highest grossing film of the entire 90s and plays continuously in theaters for more than 25 years.
Dil To Pagal Hai - blockbuster and highest grossing of 1997, worldwide and overseas
Mohabbatein - blockbuster and highest grossing of 2000, worldwide and overseas
Veer-Zaara - super hit and highest grossing of 2004, worldwide, domestically, and overseas
Chak De India! - super hit and third highest grossing of 2007, worldwide and domestically (#1 film of the year was non-YRF Om Shanti Om, also led by SRK)
Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi - blockbuster and second highest grossing of 2008, worldwide and domestically. Highest grossing of 2008 overseas. Broke YRF records as their highest grossing movie to date after going through a slump (SRK's Chak De India! was YRF's last hit before RNBDJ)
BTW here is a recording of audience reactions at this recent re-release of Mohabbatein. So clearly there is still a passionate audience that pays good money to watch these movies that you claim were not even industry hits LOL.
Im thrilled about Tumbadd re releasing..this masterpiece needs to reach wider audience. https://x.com/sumitkadei/status/1829791186124448050?s=46
