That was not too long ago as even by the early 2000s, Karishma, Kajol, etc. were leaving the film industry to start families. It does not surprise me that there is so much visceral hatred of married actresses continuing to work.

But your thread title also makes it like your criticizing them Deepika ? Are you ?

These tweets are so wrong. It’s her choice todo whatever she wants. And her being married single mother with kids etc it’s no one’s business but hers todo whatever she wants.

Reminds me of what Ash did in Dhoom-2 before she had Aaradhya and semi-retired.

What kind of stupid tweet is that??

So just because Deepika is married she should stop doing things....

I am OK with someone thinking that skin show is bad...its their perspective....but why is it not OK only for married women??

It is Deepika's choice.....HER choice.....people should stop blaming and shaming women.

exactly no man or woman should try to shame them because it isn’t something they think isn’t right. Plus nobody making them go see the movie. What bugged me the most was because she’s married she should not do this ? It’s just like those saus bahu serials that good girls or wives should not do this or that. Geez this is her profession and she knows her comfort zone and her hubby.

It’s like the old days where once an actress got married they were not supposed to act in movies because they now married and those that did were shameless. I thought times have changed.

The point of this thread was to showcase the audience reactions to Deepika's latest teaser. It was not meant to espouse my opinion but to display the public reaction. Perhaps I did not make that clear enough though in the original post.

She "retired" many years after Dhoom 2. But you're right that she got a lot of flack for her sensual performance in Dhoom 2 especially the chemistry she had with Hrithik. Very curious to see if Deepika will be able to replicate that chemistry or not.

Doesn't this potentially have a detrimental impact on the perception of married women? What kind of message does it convey, and does it inadvertently normalize extramarital affairs? Some on the forum argue it's just acting, so why the criticism directed at Ranbir for Animal. Even he is acting.
