Today "A song you like with a number in the title"
Seven
Seven is one of those nostalgic songs that will transport you back in time to when you were a child all innocent and carefree. It's about childhood fears and hesitations, but also about best friends and fantastical make-believe.
Fans attribute many sister songs to Seven, like Mary's Song (Oh my my my). For me, I think seven pairs with 'It's nice to have a friend.'
But there is this one bit toward the end which ties nicely with Carolina.
Seven goes
Please picture me
In the weeds
Before I learned civility
I used to scream ferociously
Any time I wanted
And then Carolina
Oh, Carolina creeks
Running through my veins
Lost I was born, lonesome I came
Lonesome I'll always stay
Carolina knows
Why for years I roam
Free as these birds, light as whispers
Carolina knows
The feral running through the weeds connects nicely with running through reedy creeks alone, don't you think?
