Loved the movie ! And what is so beautiful is that PS 1 is doing well based only on the dialogues and script . Coz there is no lure of a big hit dance number or huge action sequences .
This movie is mostly just based on 1 on 1 interaction between characters.
Ash is made for these kind of historic movies. She was stunning in the movie and believable that men will go crazy for her beauty. Sad that Hindi film industry has stopped casting her.
Trisha , Vikram , Karthi and Jayam Ravi too aced their parts. All of them were perfectly cast!

Damn!!! I thought 250 Crore is the budget of just one part. Turns out it is the budget of both parts. Which means first part made at a budget of 125 crore will make 500/600 crores. Such a huge ROI from theatrical revenue alone for such a big budget film. Hats off Mani!! Imagine he’s been making movies for four decades and he’s still relevant and making the biggest blockbusters. Can’t wait for part 2 now!!

Which means PS1 budget is less than Vikram Vedha. And the OG Vikram Vedha was made on 11 crores, which reached an iconic status compared to the remake which choked at its launch itself. Bollywood seriously has so much to learn and more importantly these so called stars who take up more than half of the movie budget as their salaries need to be put in their places ASAP before the entire industry comes crumbling down.
Releasing it so early would be a mistake. People should be desperate for part 2 to come out. They should be given time to catch the movie in OTT, TV etc. the fanbase needs to grow. At this point, only the existing fans will go and see.
There was a 2 year gap for Bahubali which was ideal. It will never do numbers like BB2 and KGF2 if it releases in 6 months only. At least keep a 1 year gap.
Thanks for all the updates! 😊

I think 9 months is sufficient enough time. If they take too long, then the content might look old/stale. That shouldn't happen.

Normally I would agree with you, but South cinema is booming now. Say there is a recession next year, it would hit the movie badly. PS:1 is not like BB2 or KGF for it to be a masala blockbuster - the audiences for the movie are very different, therefore next year should be fine.

I was actually thinking it should be six months. With Bahubali people didn’t know the story and waited for two years. With ps1, the target audience already knows the story so there’s no suspense. Most non Tamil audiences will watch it on ott again or for the first time to get acquainted with the characters. It makes sense to ride on this wave the film has currently.
PS1 grander can be enjoyed only in theaters than TV s at home
