Yes She's a good actress but it's too early to sing her praises.
As for South Indian movies being popular among small town Indian audiences it's a good thing.
For some reason Hindi films don't seem to have found such audiences in South India even when they dubbed their films in South Indian languages.
Amitabh Bacchan Rajanikant Kamalhasan and to an extent Nagarjuna had Pan Indian presence even before this term came into existence.
It is just that the technology made movies from different parts of the country accessible to the entire country.
If a film has substance that is relatable it will be accepted all over even if it is a story which is region specific.
It is how audience can relate to the characters and content and not the language.
In fact watching the movie in original language with subtitles or watching the dubbed version of the original work is better than a remake.
