I wanna know the ending now just to see if what I predicted while watching the trailer was right. Can someone send me a spoiler? 😆

Thanks, I skipped and watched the climax myself 😆 Pretty happy that I was kind of right with my assumption

SPOILER REVIEW!

Surprisingly I liked the film. I really liked the cinematography and the songs were nice.

I cannot stand Sara because of what I have seen of her from interviews and videos, but this is the first time I'm watching her act and she was better than I expected. My expectations were low when I watched the trailer, so that helped. However, she didn't go as OTT I thought she would. Akshay and Sara looked really odd together at first, but that eventually settles down. Although I made a prediction of him likely being her imagination, I was surprised by the slight twist to it (that being he was actually her dad). That part actually got me emotional, Sara did good then. However, I am still confused as to why she thought of him as her lover/boyfriend when it's her dad 🤔

She and Dhanush had good chemistry. Although, I do wish they could have had a better build-up of Sara and Dhanush's relationship because it was way too unrealistic and weird that he was in love with her so quickly. Dhanush's performance was really great though, I also enjoyed the guy who played his friend.

I have the exact same question if anyone can explain this it would really help. The manner in which I understood it, was that she had split personality disorder and assumed that she was her mom forgetting her real identity, hence why she kept viewing Sajad as her love interest as opposed to realizing that he's actually her dad. Therefore, in the end, when she had been getting treatment for a while and her bubble had burst about "Sajad" she was finally able to realize that the person she keeps imagining is her father and she's the little kid in the story, not the woman in the FBs. Hence why she and her mom looked the same as well I think. Though I have no idea if I understood that right or not. Because like you, I was also very very lost on how he can be her dad when she's clearly in love, love with him. 🤔 If anyone understood this better, please let us both know😆

I was just as lost and still am about that, but you actually have a very good interpretation; I did not even think of that. I do wish since Dhanush's friend was a psychiatrist they could have addressed the issue more through him, so that as the audience we could've gotten clarity.

Watched it. Too many questions, doubts but loved it because even without the twist, it is a decent rom-com. I know I should judge the movie for what it is, not what I hoped it had been but can't help myself. So,......

I wished Rinku and Sajjad played by someone else.

Actually, really want SRK in Sajjad role. Dhanush is charming ,so if it is SRK I would have gotten double dose in Prince Charming.

Sara is alright but I want more. Okay, I'm greedy. This is already over Bollywood parameter in terms of quality.

The story have potential but it felt wasted...I don't understand how's he fell I love with her in one's day??

And is this how you treat mental health? Was that a joke?

Other than the story the performances were fine

I loved the first half of the movie more than the second half actually. I thoroughly enjoyed Dhanush and Sara's chemistry even more than his chemisty with Sonam in Ranjhana. I however do agree with everyone that the story between Rinku and Vishu was rushed way was he so enarmored by a girl he just met and was forcefully married to and as aptly ointed out he got over the forceful marriage pretty fast.

Didn't like Akshay's prescense in the film made it very jarring before the back story that an older man is playing the 'love interest' but after the backstory it made sense why it would be an older man but wasn't a fan of his portrayal of the character. I was craving for more Vishu-Rinku scenes.

Being a doctor myself I did cringe at the certain moments that downplay the way psychiatric patient's behave or generalize that all psychiatric patients, bipolar and Schizophrenia can see 'Sajjad' just as Rinku which is not true. Not all patient have hallucinations and definitely not all of them having a shared hallucination.

Generally I got Vishu's pain of wanting to be with a girl but struggling to have to handle a girl with mental disorder reminding me of Shraddha struggling to be with Aditya battling alcoholism. Must add Dhanush's nuanced expressions and wide range of emotions really was the star of the show.

Hence for me the film works for me in moments, love the concept and the plot twist, did see it coming kind off but there was potential for a better told story of someone suffering from mental illness.
