Not a star . But his career would have lasted much longer. He would have remained a part of successful but non-blockbuster films like masti and the like. And that would have been good enough. He is too 'cute'/ boyish looking to be a star and doesn't have the personality to make up for it either. On top of it he's very insecure and defensive. I believe him when it comes to the harassment thing by Salman, although he may have exaggerated a little. But how is that Aishwarya's fault? I didn't like how she remained silent instead of standing up for them but then maybe she was worried about her career. Maybe she had asked Vivek not to get involved at all. I'm sure Salman did his best to keep him out of the industry but ..he wasn't missing out on any 'stardom'. A dozen more reasonably popular movies until the belly and dad bod sets in . Tops. Nothing else.
I don't get why he kept apologising to Salman. That was weird.
What's seen as Aishwarya's 'dignity'..that she never mentioned it ever again is actually her majboori. She was intimidated and threatened well and good.
It is Aishwarya's fault because she forced Vivek to do the press conference. Instead of supporting Vivek for what he did for her, she quietly sneaked away.
Salman didn't tell anyone not to work with Vivek. Vivek himself has said that Salman never stopped anyone from working with him. And Aishwarya constantly talking about her dignity is hypocrisy. That woman is anything but dignified. She had no majboori to stay silent. She cleverly chose to stay silent to hide the fact that she was behind all that trouble.

Ash hardly ever spoke about Salman even when they were dating. She released that one statement about him abusing her when they broke-up. She's always been pretty private and quiet about her personal life. She never said anything about Vivek either and I doubt she was afraid of Vivek. She's married now and I still don't see her saying much about her husband or marriage. She keeps it to herself.
Someone like that isn't going to speak about her ex that isn't even in her life anymore. I personally find it so weird that Shilpa and Raveena are so obsessed with their relationships from 20 years ago and still won't stop pointing fingers.
People really believe Aishwarya's PR story that she is private about her personal life. LOL. Aishwarya is so private about her personal life that the world knows about her affairs, relationships, and dramatic breakups. Her pictures and videos with all her boyfriends are in public. When she dated a man, she painted the town red with her love but after the breakups, she acted like she never knew the man.
Aishwarya claims to stay silent but it is her who washed her dirty laundry in public...Salman, Vivek, Rajeev Mulchandani or her other boyfriends never said a word about her.
Aishwarya used to talk about Salman all the time when she was dating him. She mentioned his name in TV interviews and press interviews. The entertainment news from 1999-2002 was filled with Aishwarya talking about Salman. News from 2002-2004 was filled with Aishwarya talking about Vivek. We have all seen how she milked her relationship with Abhishek Bachchan and she cashed on her marriage to Bachchan to the last letter.
Yeah...she's such a private woman who has kept quiet about her personal life!

Yes she did obtain a restraining order, which was a win, considering she just wanted to get rid him off her back.
And really? You think she should have pursued it? Salman, who can escape jail despite conviction on charges like killing a human being and an endangered species, would find it difficult to escape a domestic violence charge, especially when even the laws surrounding it are so weak? It would just get her caught up in a never ending media circus, involving courts etc. which would make it super messy.
She wanted to end the drama, which she did as she broke her silence, and move on with her life. She did precisely that.
Ash obtained a restraining order? That's a new story. Is it by her PR or is it created by her fans? If anyone needed a restraining order, it was Salman because Ash was the one who used to visit Salman's house and she used to stay with him in his bedroom. There are so many pictures of Aishwarya in Salman's bedroom. One was shared by Vivek in his "Opinion Poll, Exit Poll, Result" meme in which dignified Ash was drinking tea while sitting on a couch in Salman's bedroom.
Ash is the one who created all the drama because she got what she wanted from Salman and didn't need him anymore. She dated Salman to get movies. She happily stayed with Salman for 4 years because it was beneficial to her. When Devdas became a hit, she didn't need Salman anymore and tried every way to get rid of him...throwing false accusations and badmouthing him everywhere. Had Devdas not become a hit, she would have lived in Salman's house for a few more years.
The killing of human being was a car accident. He didn't kill anyone on purpose. Ash also escaped jail despite conviction on evading taxes.

Aish has a new story every hour 😆
Some fans are in la la land. I wish I could let them be there but nah 😂
In an interview to The Times Of India on February 12, 2002, Salman admitted to the above-mentioned incident:
'The incident is true, but it was overhyped by the media. I have a relationship with Aishwarya. If you do not fight in a relationship, it means you do not love each other. Why would I squabble with a person who is a stranger to me? Such things happen between us only because we love each other. Now, even the police have barred me from entering that building.'
Some reports claimed that it was Aishwarya's father Krishnaraj Rai who reported the incident to the police. Salman confessed during the interview that Aishwarya was not returning his expression of love in kind, and that was what had caused him to grow violent.

She spoke of the incident ONCE.
If the media ran the story for 5 years straight, it's not her fault.
For goodness sake, the woman has kept the most dignified silence for decades... and yet mrs-know-it-alls on the internet are still spouting nonsense for their own entertainment.
Yikes.

Twenty years later, she is happily married with a lovely daughter; continues to command respect for her work, wins prestigious awards like Padmashri, President's award and is still more famous globally.
On the other hand, he is old and wornout, acting with actresses his daughter's age and getting bashed by audiences and critics for his poor movie choices. The never ending court cases and the likes of KRK showing him his aukaat every day.
I can understand where the frustration is stemming from. I can empathize.

@ bold : We don't know that. He probably did. He didn't seem to have any trouble threatening and manipulating contestants on his reality show so I don't see why he'd hesitate to do the same and worse when his personal life is involved. And that's what I meant by majboori. That she chose not to rock the boat and stay silent can be tact or cunningness or both. Yes she did sneak away and that wasn't nice. Although to be fair Vivek did exaggerate a lot and create an embarrassing situation for her . But blaming her directly for his failure is far fetched. And he was no A Lister to begin with.
I'm open to your interpretation of her 'dignity' I don't really buy it either . She's a shrewd businesswoman .
