I personally think because Rani got close to the YR scion so after that PZ wasn't really able to gain anything from YR. She had Salam Namaste which was a hit then a huge flop in Jhoom Barabar. I guess she didn't really have that clout to stay relevant despite producing her own film.

The only major mistake Preity made career wise was Jhoom Baraabar Jhoom and that costed her. The early 2000 brigade couldn't afford flops at that time coz new heroines were around the corner...and gradually some from the early 2000s took over too like Priyanka, Katrina etc.

But she got her life together now and is supposed to be headlining an American sitcom, so looks like she's moved to better pastures.

It's not fair that she got affected by that film when AB Jr keeps on getting huge opportunities!

U forget she was an outsider. And despite that she gave some major hits in the early 2000s. Not only was she commercially successful but I enjoyed her acting too. What she managed to achieve with no major controversy and during a time when nepotism had become a big thing, but we couldn't see it is commendable.

I hope she gets some good projects now. She lives in LA, I don't see her moving back to India. She seems to be in a very happy zone now and she did get a new sitcom. Her guest starring episode was also pretty good, I enjoyed watching her and Vir Das.

She was close to all the superstars baring Aamir...but in Tinseltown if you are not successful no one cares about u. Remember that news about Manish Malhotra not really caring about her costumes for an ad and sending his assistant instead - all because she is not popular anymore and he doesn't have to fake his enthusiasm for her.

I forgot she had that talk show where all her friends came on...If I am not mistaken, it was mostly the actors and not actresses.

She's also producing The Night Manager for Disney Hotstar that Hrithik is reportedly starring in.

Actually, she was the number 2 actress in 2005 (SN), and somewhere in top 5 or at least still pretty popular in 2006 (KANK). It's from 2007 that she faded away.

Considering she debuted in 1998, 8 years of staying in the limelight (98-2006), and about 5-6 years of being in top 5 (2000-2005), and 3 consecutive years of staying at top 3 (2004-2006), and one year that completely belonged to her (2003) isn't bad. In fact most Bollywood actresses back then disappeared after a decade or so (even Madhuri did after a decade), her innings wasn't that bad.

I don't find her very talented, so I'd say she had an impressive career for a bollywood lady back in the day.
