It was in 2008 that Aishwarya cleared the air about why she couldn't be a part of Seven Pounds. Contrary to what was portrayed in the US media that Aishwarya had preferred to return to Mumbai for Karwa Chauth, the actress had revealed the reason. Speaking to news agency IANS, Aishwarya had explained that the script reading for the film happened right after Diwali when Teji Bachchan wasn't well.
βThe script reading for The Seven Pounds was just after Diwali when Dadimaa (Teji Bachchan)βs health dipped drastically. So I didnβt make that trip out to LA for the reading session with Will. Is that wrong? Not to me. Iβd any day put family over career," said the actress.
The actress had also talked about turning down Tonight He Comes and said that she felt awful about it. The actress, however, explained that her priorities are set and her family always comes first for her.
