More like the card expired after being milked for decades.
How......as far as i remember she was a bigger personality when Adi C was a baby.......after watching bollywood movies from childhood I know her more then her brother in law, leave alone her nephew........so i am pretty sure had she used her card, KJO wouldve had to give up......
the fact that she didnt malign him at that time just chose to speak up now after the shock of SSR's demise, shows how graceful she still is........

who knows, maybe the sneaky way that KJO went about it, must've shocked her....cause she is from the era, when there was no clear demarcation between outsiders and insiders and everyone was given a fair chance based on their stardom and talent and love they get from the audience......

this is her career graph from wikipedia :
After spending much of her childhood in England, Garewal returned to India while a teenager. Her facility with the English language induced the makers of the English-language film Tarzan Goes to India to offer her a role. A 15-year-old, Garewal made her debut alongside Feroz Khan in this film in 1962.[5] Her performance was good enough for her to fetch many more film offers. During the 1960s and '70s, she was in several notable Indian films, working with leading directors such as Mehboob Khan's Son of India, Raj Kapoor in Mera Naam Joker (1970), Satyajit Ray in Aranyer Din Ratri (Days and Nights in the Forest), Mrinal Sen in Padatik (The Guerilla Fighter) and Raj Khosla in Do Badan.
and Pamela married Yash Chopra in 1970, so that means Simi was already a huge star before her cousin married Yash Chopra through an arranged alliance..........so that means none of them were dependent on each other to show the celebrity card
