I don't think the intention of a film is always to raise awareness or spread a message. Sometimes it is also an outlet for the writer- director to vent her/his frustration and channelize their anger over what's happening around into art. Something that you just see and feel sad about and know that many others feel the same through community discussions because at the end of the day everyone is helpless. One can make even the most massy film that reaches every household but that can't guarantee the disappearance of rape unless there's change within the person.
