I've seen Tamasha quite a few times and find it a beautiful movie. It's not perfect, by any means, but it has perfect moments.
Tamasha is a story about :
1) Embracing your inner self
2) Breaking away from the shackles of the unfortunate childhood you wish you did not have but has become deeply embedded in your bones.
3) It talks about the invisible weights that we carry on our shoulders which we have learnt to consider a part of our own self.
4) It is about un-learning point 3.
5) It is about facing the demons inside after running away from them for as long as you can remember.
6) It is a movie about self-discovery.
7) It is about the power of love. The hero did not break free from everything that held him back until love compelled him to.
Acting was superb.
Ranbir: I would put this right up there with Rockstar as Ranbir's best performance. The sheer confidence he showcases in comedy for the first half is complimented with amazing intensity of Ved's conflict in the second half. For me, there are visuals of his performance that are going to be etched in my mind for a long, long time.
Deepika: Deepika is the support not only Ranbir required in the movie but movie without her wouldn't have been nearer to what it is now. She is no less than Ranbir.
Well, review apart, I also wondered why this movie flopped. Can you guys elaborate on this?
