Jisshu Sengupta has a Piece of Advice for Kangana Ranaut
If she feels direction is her calling, she should go for it: Jisshu Sengupt
It came as a surprise when everyone came to know about Kangana Ranaut as a director for Manikarnika. It surely must have been hard judging oneself while you act but also direct others at the same time. But, Kangana did it gracefully and the film won hearts all over the world making a whopping 150 CR + worldwide. “Kangana as director is detailed, specific, and pertinent...clear in pursuit of excellence”, British actor, Richard Keep said. Zeeshan Ayyub, Ankita Lokhande, Danny Denzongpa, Vijayendra Prasad, Prasoon Joshi, and more who were a part of the film also appreciated Kangana for her directorial prowess.
Jisshu who worked with Kangana in Manikarnika, where she was not only the lead, but it was also her directorial debut. He talked about if Kangana should continue filmmaking, Jisshu said, "She is a wonderful actress and a great director with a vision which she follows. As a creative person, I think one should follow one’s heart. If she feels direction is her calling, she should go for it. But, Kangana is also a phenomenal actor and she should keep acting too."
A few months ago, Kangana said in a statement, “I’m on the verge of announcing my next directorial venture. It’s an action film — an epic drama. It has taken a lot of my time. Currently, we are putting everything in order, but we have locked the script. We’ll be doing a photoshoot, soon after, which we plan to release the poster, too.” Kangana has often spoken about making the switch to film direction, after having established herself as one of Bollywood highest-paid female actors.
She continued, “There are a lot of great stories to be told and actresses today are bringing a lot of business, too. I’m happy with the way Manikarnika worked for me — as an actor and also as a director. Now is the right time to start working on my second directorial project.” There are a lot of people who have worked with Kangana and are inspired by the way she turns around things and does everything with great precaution. It looks like, she is the new age director we have all been waiting for, for her current day thinking, focus on content and greater concentration on acting!
