Nawazuddin Siddiqui received a lot of appreciation for his portrayal of politician Balasaheb Thackeray in the 2019 biopic Thackeray. And as per the recent reports, producer Sanjay Raut has now approached the actor to play former defence minister George Fernandes in yet another biopic based on the life of the controversial figure who passed away last month in January.
An industry source close to Deccan Chronicle said,"Nawaz and Raut got along pretty well during the making and Raut was not only impressed by the way Nawaz performed in the film but also by his conduct during the shoot. Nawaz did not even ask for a penny for the film which made Thackeray get into profits. Raut has now offered Nawaz the role of George Fernandes as well in the biopic that he is making. Nawaz has a close resemblance with George because of his looks. It is also said that Shoojit Sircar will be one of the creative heads on the project."
Meanwhile, on the work front, Nawaz will also begin with the shoot of Bole Chudiyan which will star Tamannaah Bhatia as the leading lady. Earlier, Mouni Roy was approached for the role and announcing it the 45-year-old actor took to his Instagram handle and wrote, "I am really excited to work with the very beautiful and talented @imouniroy. Hope to spread some fragrance of romance on screen #BoleChudiyan."
