Alia Bhatt was given middle-class upbringing, reveals mother Soni Razdan

Bollywood star Alia Bhatt is a favorite of people all around for her charming personality, star performances and down-to-earth nature, and it appears that her mother had a lot to do with her being raised well.

During an interview with India Today, the 26-year-old Raazi star's mother Soni Razdan revealed that she made sure that Alia received a middle-class upbringing throughout her life, not being told she was special from the rest despite having Mahesh Bhatt as her father who was and remains a prominent name in the industry.

"I did not bring up my child to think that she was a star. If I had treated her any differently, it would have messed everything up. She was brought up normally, like other kids. In a normal house, and it was a normal middle-class life, she stated.

Earlier she had also spoken about her daughter's beau Ranbir Kapoor saying: "It's her personal life. Ranbir is a lovely boy. I think whoever Alia has dated before or will date, (it) is her choice and her life. I'll always support her but I don't think I should discuss this you know. It's not right on my part to discuss (her personal life) in public. As a mom, I'm just happy if she is happy.

Soni is talking about Mahesh as if he is a superstar, star or a famous celebrity when infact he is strictly a successful producer/director only..not some legend. 😆

Compared to Sonam or Ranbir or even Athiya or Jhanvi she probably had a less visible childhood, less exposed to the industry. But she grew up as best friends with the daughter of the ultra rich Ranjans, her classmates were children of the rich upper class, there are videos of shaheen and Masaba (Neena Gupta's daughter) playing around as kids. There was nothing normal or middle class about Alia's upbringing. At least not by our standards 😆.
