They simply made Salman an excuse when they didnt want to go ahead with films they had committed to VO because of his flopping films. The excuse was good for Salman's image too as it showed his power in Bollywood.

Bhansali said it best

Upset on his friend's behalf, Bhansali says, "I think Vivek Oberoi has committed the biggest blunder ever by any actor in Mumbai. He is so powerful. He knows kick-boxing and karate. [US President George W] Bush should call back his army from Iraq and send Vivek instead. I am very scared of Vivek. I will never be able to work with him now. I may shout at him on the sets and he may call a press conference against me. All the heroines should touch his feet for protecting their dignity.

"The media should be ready to cover every event at the Oberois' residence," adds Bhansali. "If Vivek's dog has dysentery tomorrow, we should be prepared to hear Vivek talk about it on camera for three hours. The film industry functions on fraternal feelings. If there is a problem, we solve it in-house. Vivek has no business talking about Salman's mental state. He should not have talked about his Coca-Cola campaign or Rani Mukherji, Diya Mirza and Aishwarya Rai at a time when he was supposed to be so distraught.

He's a boxing champ them send him to Iraq

Bad choices ruin him more than anything else The likes of Dum ,Home Delivery, Kyun Ho Gaya Naa,Kisna etc were responsible for his downfall.

I dont think he would have become an A lister but he would have been a very solid Blister. From his generation he was the strongest when it came to acting skills. Getting involved with Aishwarya was probably most detrimental to his career.

Hritik, came with a block buster, with that looks and dance. Still he had to struggle hard (with his father's help) to gain his place within the 90's brigade (Khans, Kumar, Devgan). Others had no chance. None of the other male stars who made their entry in early 2000 could survive against 90's brigade. Abhishek, Madhavan, Fardeen.., just name any.

Bir, Veer all appeared after 10 years, where 90's batch could not take up younger roles, so they flourished.

No way. I mean he still struggles and not sure what he is even doing now but Yes maybe some producer or directors didnt want to work with him anymore because of Salman but still there are always other choices.
Look at Irrfan and Nawazzudin they may not superstars but they all have earned their own position in the industry doing varies roles. Vivek is lazy and he happened to be part of some good movies and thats it. I wouldnt blame Salman that much.

Agreed that VO was arrogant and that press conference was OTT, but SLB's this statement is also too much... he is sprouting venom, just cause VO spoke against Salman...

My friend was crazy about Vivek after Hrithik got married to an extent that she used to call herself Mrs. Oberoi and have his posters stuck in her bedroom 😆
I feel bad about him that after being so popular, he disappeared so soon but I also know he was quite arrogant. However, he was quite a good actor but after the Salman incident, he career never got better.

People say that he was still getting big movies even after his fight with Salman. Most of his movies were multi-starrers which flopped, which means that they were bad movies. His fight with Bhai definitely affected his career. Otherwise he would've got more solo-lead projects.

Agreed. He was on trajectory for solo lead roles with top heroines. He suddenly stopped getting solo lead roles. It had nothing to with BO because even masti was a success.

But SLB is logically right. Vivek had some problem with Salman and turned into a circus. Any Producer/Director/Actor/Actress would think if they had some drama with Vivek that he again would do the same thing 😆😆
