Does that mean Dipika lives Shoaib, but Shoaib does not love Dipika?
Then why didn't he convert to Hinduism to marry her?

For me feminism is more important than religion.
Why do always women have to convert?

Man, Christianity follows similar beliefs as Islam (in a way). Technically, a roman catholic cannot marry our side his/her religion too. But it isn't forbidden per se. Plus, you have church registration of marriage and legal registration Church registration is not possible if you're from a different religion. Unless you get special permission forthe Bishop and he grants the same. And your marriage is not valid to the church if you haven't registered. But in my friend circle and knowledge, contrary to popular belief in this forum, I haven't seen a single Catholic boy convert his wife. Though many of my friends have catholics moms who were forced to convert after a point. Heck, people in my own building have done that. One of my closest friends parents are Hindu catholic and have like five kids and haven't changed their religion. Heck, my friends elder brother got married recently. The parents are from different (contradicting sects) of Christianity and they haven't converted. Her brother married a Hindu and they had a white and Hindu wedding.

I don't know much. But from what I know, her husband was abusive. She hid her first marriage from media during her show. She revealed and soon after her divorce came out and her name changed to maiden name. Shoaib was rumored to be the cause of her divorce. In NB they depicted that her ex husband was abusive and as per media articles he was an alcoholic who was insecure of her growing career and channeled that into abusing her. Deepika earlier worked as a flight attendant and her ex beau was one too. Then she got into acting But apparently Shoaib and she had an affair when she was still married, then the divorce came in, and his dad got sick and I don't think Shoaib was that accomplished then so he and his family moved in with her or something. I don't know much, i just remember reading up when the rumors of their affair were going on and then her divorce news came and they announced their relationship.

I could be wrong too. Coz he recently mentioned that his dad fell severely sick four years ago. And that's when they moved in with her

What if the marriage doesn't work, would she go back to being Hindu?
I don't understand if it's true love then why does she have to change? My culture and values are based in my religion and I wouldn't change it for anyone.

you have to accept your partner as he/she is.
the min you come up with ...btw..i will only marry you if you change your religion for me, that's troubling. if you want your partner to change his or her religion for you, then why don't you do the same, dum hai?
but if your partner willingly wants to change his or her religion, then that's fine. changing religion shouldn't be for a show, dil sehh hona chahiye. no point to push someone to change, its like hold a gun on their head. sometimes I found ppl change their religion just to get married, but don't follow it. some even abuse it. what's the point to change ur religion then?
you love me and accept me as I am. you must have understanding and respect of each other, and their religion. no religion is above others.

Lol I'm shameless as far as following all Hindu festivals and rituals are concerned. My mom told me did you eat egg on Mahashivratri and Ram Navmi. Living in US and considering work above all these things have made me an atheist 😛 well almost . I forgot not having egg. Mom told ask forgiveness from God he will forgive. It was so simple! I was guilty initially, but a convo with mom made me shameless. 😃

Religion is a far fetched thought I'm not going to change my surname after marriage.

This is just untrue. Zorastratians and Jewish folks both make their women/men convert.

It's funny to find so many hypocrite voices sing together here. Converting religion for marriage sake is not accepting the person as she/he is, losing identity etc. Yes, I agree. What about changing the surname after marriage?? Since birth till the marriage living with one surname and suddenly changing into husband's isn't losing identity? Is it accepting the woman as she is? Changing of name after marriage happens some castes of Hindus. Come down south, the GSB caste, same caste Deepika Padukone belongs to, woman is renamed on the day of marriage by in-laws. Isn't that losing identity??

P.S: While I agree it's rarest of rare to see non-conversion when marrying a Muslim, I don't agree that same is the case with marrying a Catholic Christian, I am married to one and haven't been asked to convert my religion even once. Have seen many similar cases like me.

@ranikaadi ^ Zoroastrians even don't consider their own girls Parsis anymore when they marry out!! They don't even want them to come to the fire temple. Check some documentaries where they are trying to change it because the numbers r depleting rapidly.

All I'm telling is that some may convert themselves or stuff but a relgion whose majority don't want outsiders to come in isn't gonna actively work on conversion. It's as simple as that which makes is very different to the point of contention discussed in this topic

And this topic isn't about that. It's about erasing a woman's identity post marriage through changing her religion.
