Do u even realize what u wrote just now? Khilji would have kept Padmavati as his keep and would have raped her every night. Here she fell in love with Shoaib and married him. Shoaib didn't rape her. God! What am I even typing.

This thread really needs to be closed.

It can and does happen in India. Under the Special Marriage Act 1954
No need for any parties to convert. Of course, it's a different thing that it won't be valid in Islam.

This is sad that you had to convert to marry the man you love. If he really loved you could had a registered marriage.
There's no men in this world I would change my religion for.

Who cares about these losers and why is their article on Bollywood forum when they are tv people.

From what I know, he and his family moved in with her. Or they moved in together and his family moved in with them coz of his dad's treatment or something. Deepika has always shown signs of being a Muslim bahu. Over the years she's been dressing like a typical Muslim bahu in her personal life be it with long kurti and skirts, or the nose piercing, or the kajal and other stuff. Her behavior has also changed. And I'm guessing they've been living together for almost five years now with his family being with them for almost four. They're four Muslim people and one Hindu person living together and Deepika really does seem to love his family a lot and all things aside Shoaib is a decent guy too who helped her escape and loved her after her separation. No man (or rarely does a man) help (at that time) a coworker get out of an abusive marriage, help her get on her feet, comfort her, be there for her, falls in love with her and marries her. His family are small town conservative Bhopali but they always seem to adore her despite knowing her past. It's no easy feat to live with your boyfriends family or accommodate your boyfriends family (parents and sister) in a shoebox Bombay apartment. I've seen so many Bhopali celebrities vouch for their virginity (not kidding here) after breakups. So, yeah. I'm guessing the religion change to an extent has been her personal choice. A major factor being that she has lived with his family and accommodated to their lifestyle for almost four years now. It would be nice if she never converted her religion but at the end of the day her dynamics, situation and variables are different. I've never followed her much but from what I did, any one could observe her in her past interactions drift towards Islam or the lifestyle of people who follow Islam. And man, I read a post about Shoaib's really ill father who can't even walk properly dancing in happiness and joy at their wedding. I don't know what else could be said. They're a nice family. But every family had hiccups.
That being said, I would never change my religion or identity for anyone. No matter what the situation is. I would rather live my whole life in solitude with the name and identity I was born with than change it for someone or some reason. I guess that's the same for most of us.

Problem is insecurity...jalan...lol. There is no liberal conservative in these situations..its us vs them.

When Hindu sees Hindu girl taken away by Muslims there is jalan..which causes all this pain u r seeing

When Muslim sees Muslim girl taken away by Hindu there will be jalan there as well. lol

It is this jalan/pain/insecurity/low confidence that one needs to be controlled

Everyone feels it...no one is angel here...however some react with control..other resort to behudgi

One has to master inner insecurities...

problem that irritates me is why is one so insecure...why is one person so important.. after coming to US, wise hippo has seen muslims eating pork and hindu eating beef...they keep their name and all. i have seen people from their religion criticizing and abusing them...

with time hippo has gone beyond it..one cannot get in pain for everyone ..these news does nothing except expose insecurities. liberal conservative is a farce which i never bought.

My religion is my identity...I am a Hindu...and I wouldn't change it for anyone or anything.

I wouldn't be able to put this in words so effectively BI.So Thank you..
And Yes,No one,I say no one would like to change their own religion unless they feel attracted to some other religion. You won't even do it for love, unless that so called love wants you to convert..

I am a Hindu,I appreciate all religion and love, respect those who deserves it..
A religion, doesn't gurantee you to be a good human being so love and respect has a very little to do with it..
BUT those who forces you to accept you using emotions and you end up doing so,I'd just run away from them..

Wish them luck but I don't understand and don't agree with such situations or decision.
