film Chef, Saif Ali Khan is out to experiment
with his acting and the kind of films he's
doing. Up next on his line is the mad
looking Kaalakaandi where he plays a
Cancer patient trying to squeeze in life in
the time he has left. This only leads him to
what seems like an adventurous ride and it
will be hitting the theatres on January
12th this year.
After Kaalakaandi, Saif Ali Khan is all geared
up for the release of Nikkhil Advani and
Gaurav Chawla's Bazaar which was earlier
supposed to release last year. The film is
about the ups and downs of the stock
market in India and Saif is portraying an
antagonistic Gujrati business man in the
film. Playing the lead protagonist in the film
is debutant Rohan Mehra. When asked
about the film, Saif said, "The intention
of Bazaar was to create a human drama
against the backdrop of the stock market.
My character is like a nasty antagonist.
Rohan Mehra is the hero. It is exciting to
play strong and powerful roles. I don't
distinguish between roles, it is funny. The
idea is even if you play bad, if it is well-
written, people don't think actors are being
evil or nasty,"
Not only this, Saif also believes that despite
Bazaar being a commercial film, it has
broadened his spectrum as an actor, "Not
all commercial films are fluff and sometimes
an actor gets an opportunity to explore
oneself as an artiste. I think commercial
cinema can sometimes give you an
opportunity to do good acting. Because it is
strong and more dramatic. I really enjoyed
that experience of making the commercial
cinema more believable and play it like it is
more real, expressed Saif to a leading daily.
While we all know how good Saif is when
he plays a bad guy, proof being his award
winning acting in Omkara, we are really
excited to see him in that form back on
screen.
