Monday evening saw the end of an era, with the sad demise of one of the country's most handsome and celebrated actors, Shashi Kapoor.
The romantic screen icon of the '70s breathed his last at 5:20 pm at a hospital in Mumbai after battling a prolonged ailment. He was 79.


The last rites of the veteran actor were held at Santacruz Hindu crematorium on Tuesday noon. A number of eminent Bollywood celebrities, such as Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Lara Dutta, Naseeruddin Shah, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Salim Khan along with Kapoor family members - Karan Kapoor, Kunal Kapoor (Shashi Kapoor's sons), Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoorwere spotted arriving to pay their last respects.




























Kapoor, a three-time winner at India's National Film Awards, is survived by his three children- Sanjana, Kunal and Karan.
