Shashi Kapoor is no more. Yes, it comes as a
huge shocker that the actor, who
entertained us for so many years,
has passed away. The actor has been ill for a
while now and finally breathed his last.
Shashi Kapoor was born in 1938 and is
survived by three kids Karan Kapoor, Kunal
Kapoor, and Sanjana Kapoor.
Kapoor had chest infection in 2014. Before
that, he had undergone bypass surgery as
well. He was later discharged from the
hospital. Known for his work in films such
as Deewar, Satyam Shivam
Sundaram and Kabhie Kabhie, the 79-year-
old has been staying away from the
limelight since the late 1990s. Amitabh
Bachchan had earlier recalled the time
Kapoor had supported him. "In Mumbai,
Shashiji had always been a great support. I
would visit him on set when I was looking
for a job, he already being an established
star by then, and he would introduce me to
all his directors.
The septuagenarian actor, who has featured
in over 160 movies, and has won three
National Awards was presented with the
Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in
2010. Together with Bachchan, Shashi
Kapoor has given the industry some of the
most entertaining films to us. Be it Do Aur
Do Paanch or Deewar, together they were a
formidable pair who spelt winners at the
box office.
